Requirements
  • Second year by January 2026 or higher pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineer, Industrial Systems Engineer or Mechanical Engineer
  • 72% Percentage or higher
  • 1-2 years of experience volunteering, working with student/school organizations, or work is preferred
  • Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license - You will need to be able to travel to and from sites and/or office
  • Ability to work full time and be a student in standing at the time of the co-op/internship
  • Basic computer skills are required
  • Experience working in a team environment is a must
  • Must be able to safely perform the essential functions of the job without posing a direct threat to the safety of his or her own self, or the safety of others
  • Must be authorized to work in Canada
Responsibilities
  • Leading and implementing safety improvement projects
  • Troubleshooting rotating equipment and components such as pumps, crushers, conveyors, elevators, etc. and providing engineering recommendations and/or design improvements
  • Utilizing technical drawings, codes, regulations, computer programs, hand calculations, collaboration to provide engineering solutions
  • Evaluating and optimizing equipment/process performance
  • Investigating failures to determine root causes and developing corrective actions
  • Providing engineering recommendations and design improvements for stationary assets such as tanks, vessels, piping, chute work, and structures
  • Communicating with various groups of personnel throughout the organization including management, plant operators, engineers (of various disciplines), tradespeople, and contractors
  • Participating in department meetings and meetings specific to the project assignment
  • Adhering to Mosaic’s mission, guiding principles and priorities, and key competencies.
Desired Qualifications
  • Previous internship or co-op experience is preferred
  • Familiarity with an industrial environment is highly desirable
  • Effective verbal communication skills is a plus
