Requirements
  • A bachelor’s degree with a GPA above 3.5 is required.
  • Ability to read academic and subject-specific information and write reasoned, thoughtful analyses and creative interpretations.
  • Proven evidence of independent research in a specific advanced field of study.
  • Evidence of prior high-quality, original academic writing and background in analysis and interpretation of relevant data, research, news, and literature.
  • Ability to maintain high standards of work quality and attention to detail, stay organized, complete tasks, balance multiple tasks and shifting priorities under tight deadlines, and work at an accelerated pace when necessary.
Responsibilities
  • Work under the general direction of Harvard Business School faculty on topics central to the research agenda, providing subject-area knowledge, analysis, and interpretation and identifying and exploring a wide range of research questions.
  • Write cases, case supplements, project reports, policy memos, and articles for applicable business audiences from start to finish, creating original writing based on subject-area expertise, research, and interviews.
  • Develop, design, conduct, analyze, and implement research using data science knowledge and statistical packages, and perform statistical programming.
  • Manage and manipulate data using requested packages such as STATA, Python, R, or MATLAB.
  • Ensure compliance with department, University, and federal regulations and follow applicable department, School, University, and outside research policies.
  • Apply complex research ideas, concepts, and methodologies to new projects and situations, structure assignments, exercise judgment, and keep the faculty member informed as necessary.
  • Build trust and collaboration by working onsite and engaging directly with colleagues and various constituents.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
