Requirements
  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Strong technical understanding of switch architectures, networking systems, AI fabric interconnects, and system-level quality concepts.
  • Experience applying design-for-excellence, extended failure mode and effects analysis, root cause analysis, statistical process control, reliability testing, failure analysis, and corrective action processes.
  • Experience supporting cloud service providers, hyperscale customers, networking original equipment manufacturers, artificial intelligence infrastructure deployments, or data center networking environments.
  • Experience developing process quality plans and driving effective 8D corrective and preventive actions in complex hardware manufacturing environments.
  • Experience leading quality excursions and resolving complex manufacturing, supplier, field, customer, and product quality issues, including executive-level quality reviews and critical customer escalations.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to derive data-driven insights from large datasets, switch telemetry, manufacturing yield metrics, field quality data, and automated test infrastructure.
  • Experience working with original design manufacturers, contract manufacturers, and suppliers to establish manufacturing quality requirements, drive accountability, and improve operational quality performance.
  • Experience supporting new product introduction, manufacturing ramp, and production readiness activities, including design validation testing, qualification reviews, process validation, risk assessments, yield improvement initiatives, and deployment of quality control plans.
  • Ability to interface effectively with executive leadership, customers, suppliers, and cross-functional technical teams.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills to organize, prioritize, and drive complex issues to closure in fast-paced matrix environments.
  • Experience defining supplier quality scorecards, manufacturing key performance indicator dashboards, escalation frameworks, and quality management processes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, self-motivation, and customer focus.
Responsibilities
  • Drive supplier and internal technical organizations, including design, assembly, manufacturing, and product testing teams, to achieve high-quality product releases through review of test plans, qualification results, failure rates, design-for-excellence, extended failure mode and effects analysis, non-use design defect data, and supplier-led failure analysis.
  • Coordinate and manage quality activities focused on issue resolution, part approval, process control, quality assurance during new product introduction, analytics capability advancement, risk identification, and mitigation planning.
  • Drive quality improvements related to design, materials, and manufacturing processes throughout the product lifecycle, sourcing critical quality data and test telemetry from system integrators and customers.
  • Monitor factory and field nonconformance metrics for switch products, including manufacturing yield, first-pass yield excursions, hardware replacement rates, and field quality performance, while driving process improvements and corrective actions.
  • Lead root cause investigations and corrective action implementation using 8D, 5-Why, statistical analysis, and industry-standard quality methodologies.
  • Collect and analyze large amounts of data to identify product and process performance trends and provide actionable recommendations to improve quality, reliability, and operational efficiency.
  • Drive switch debugging and issue-resolution activities involving firmware and hardware defects.
  • Define switch supplier build-report expectations, including reporting frequency, required quality metrics, expected data, yield monitoring, and escalation requirements.
  • Manage field and customer escalations as the primary quality interface with suppliers, driving containment, root cause identification, corrective actions, and long-term resolution of quality excursions.
  • Advocate for the customer through manufacturing knowledge, timely follow-through, and customer focus.
  • Capture supplier and customer feedback, track lessons learned, and drive continuous improvement in quality and reliability performance against AMD and customer requirements.
  • Travel to supplier locations as needed to support manufacturing quality initiatives, supplier audits, investigations, and continuous improvement activities.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with data center switch platforms, merchant silicon switch architectures such as Broadcom, NVIDIA, or Marvell, high-speed optical interconnects, rack-scale networking solutions, artificial intelligence networking infrastructure, or hyperscale networking environments.
  • Familiarity with hardware and firmware interaction within complex networking platforms, including system-level integration troubleshooting, interoperability, platform reliability issues, and reliability qualification methodologies such as HALT, HASS, environmental stress testing, and accelerated life testing.
  • Experience with Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, JIRA, or similar analytics and reporting tools.
