Requirements
  • Deep, applied expertise in leadership and organizational consulting, particularly leadership development and culture, including understanding HR organization structures, mandates, talent management, learning and development, performance, rewards, and CHRO challenges.
  • Advanced degrees in organizational psychology, industrial/organizational psychology, or related behavioral sciences are preferred but not required.
  • Deep knowledge of the full business development cycle, including identifying opportunities, shaping solutions, developing proposals, strategic pricing, negotiating and executing contracts, and transitioning to delivery.
  • Ability to rapidly understand a client’s business context, identify people and leadership challenges, and translate them into prioritized recommendations tied to measurable business impact.
  • Ability to structure ambiguous problems, develop and test hypotheses, and use qualitative and quantitative data to form conclusions.
  • Ability to communicate with executives and boards using clear, jargon-free narratives anchored in business context.
  • Ability to design and lead executive workshops and working sessions, manage group dynamics, and produce concrete outputs.
  • Ability to set team expectations, provide direct developmental feedback, staff projects appropriately, and hold teams accountable without micromanaging.
  • Ability to articulate a differentiated, evidence-grounded point of view in writing, conversation, and formal forums.
  • Credibility and executive presence with C-suite and board members.
  • Entrepreneurial ownership of growing the firm’s client footprint, capabilities, and reputation.
  • Ability to operate across varied industries, functional contexts, and organizational cultures.
  • Ability to maintain effectiveness and sound judgment under pressure, ambiguity, and adversity.
  • Seven or more years of progressive experience in consulting or professional services, with increasing responsibility from delivery contributor to engagement leader and client relationship owner.
  • Experience owning at least one client opportunity from initial conversation through signed engagement and successful delivery, including proposal development, pricing, contracting, and transition to delivery.
  • Experience managing high-stakes people, leadership, or culture engagements across at least two distinct industries, with accountability for the overall engagement.
  • Experience with financial accountability for client or organizational budgets, including scoping, margin management, and resourcing trade-offs.
  • Experience serving as the primary relationship owner for C-suite executives, including CHROs, CEOs, and other senior leaders.
Responsibilities
  • Serve as the senior-most point of accountability for major client relationships and engagements.
  • Advise C-suite executives, board members, and their direct reports on people, leadership, and culture topics.
  • Shape client engagement strategy and direction from scoping through delivery.
  • Ensure the quality, timeliness, and measurable impact of client-facing work.
  • Anticipate and address evolving client challenges and strategic needs.
  • Lead pursuits for new client relationships and expand existing accounts.
  • Develop and present proposals, pitch materials, and business cases, owning opportunities from initial conversation through signed engagement.
  • Identify cross-selling opportunities across service lines and practice areas.
  • Meet or exceed individual revenue and business development targets.
  • Build and leverage an external network of senior executives, decision-makers, and referral sources.
  • Lead consulting teams, set expectations, and create conditions for high-quality work.
  • Provide coaching and performance feedback to develop team members.
  • Staff projects appropriately and hold teams accountable to delivery standards.
  • Contribute to recruiting, onboarding, and retention of consulting talent.
  • Develop and articulate a differentiated point of view on a relevant domain.
  • Represent the firm through speaking engagements, publications, and media.
  • Contribute to firm methodologies, tools, and intellectual capital.
  • Stay current on industry trends and apply fresh thinking to client problems.
  • Build a recognized external brand as a subject matter expert.
  • Contribute to practice-area strategy, growth initiatives, and firm-wide priorities.
  • Support new service offerings, capabilities, and market positions.
  • Serve as an ambassador for firm culture and values with clients, recruits, and the public.
