Requirements
  • Candidates must be enrolled in a graduate program within the Department of Biochemistry, or in another graduate program at McGill University, for the Winter 2026 term.
  • At least one (1) year experience in the Graduate Program.
  • One of the two attending TAs must have taken the BIOC 220 laboratory course in the past year.
  • Have taken the WHMIS and Waste Management courses from Environmental Health and Safety or equivalent.
  • Effective communication skills in English are essential.
  • French is an asset.
Responsibilities
  • Review of experimental procedures and specific critical steps prior to experiment.
  • Assist the course coordinator with the supervision of laboratory experiments.
  • Answer technical and theoretical questions on the laboratory experiments.
  • Explain in detail the safety procedures and manipulation required in the laboratory.
  • Correct and grade lab reports, quizzes and exams.
  • Answer student’s questions on the Discussion Board in MyCourses.
Desired Qualifications
  • French is an asset.
