Requirements
  • A minimum of 2 years of related business experience or 2–3 years of customer service experience handling home service repair items for a residential homebuilder.
  • A minimum high school diploma or GED.
  • Good organizational and time-management skills and effective communication abilities.
  • Understanding of the technical aspects of residential construction.
  • Ability to analyze problems, determine solutions, and produce desired outcomes independently and within a team environment.
  • Intermediate to advanced personal computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills.
  • A professional attitude suitable for representing the company positively.
  • A valid driver's license and good driving record.
  • Ability to accept direction from others.
Responsibilities
  • Respond to homeowner service calls assigned by the Customer Care Coordinator or Area Construction Manager.
  • Contact homeowners within 24 hours and inspect service calls within 72 hours after receiving a service request.
  • Evaluate homeowner requests to determine whether repairs are warrantable or the homeowner's responsibility.
  • Monitor business partners' work for completion and repair satisfaction.
  • Open and close web requests, service requests, and work orders as needed.
  • Complete minor home repairs and obtain customer approval or signatures for completed service requests.
  • Monitor status reports for accuracy.
  • Expedite emergency repairs.
  • Assist in maintaining community standards.
  • Participate in the after-hours on-call rotation.
  • Receive and process homeowner inquiries in a timely manner according to established policies.
  • Maintain customer care work authorizations and back charges when required.
  • Obtain supervisor approval for customer care work authorizations and invoices.
  • Obtain and distribute trade partner lists for each community for use by Customer Care Representatives.
  • Collect current service ticket status information, enter it into the computer, and distribute weekly or monthly service reports as directed.
  • Develop or maintain filing systems for special projects and individual homesites that provide quick access to prior correspondence and related data.
  • Maintain inventory of customer care forms.
  • Order office supplies for the Customer Care Department and Customer Care Representatives.
  • Assist Customer Care Representatives with scheduling trade partners and homeowner appointments when necessary.
  • Update and distribute after-hours on-call personnel assignments.
  • Support customer care and construction staff as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
