Requirements
  • Relevant experience leading a team, with supervisory experience managing a team of direct reports.
  • A proven track record of successfully managing a selling and operations workforce and achieving business results.
  • Proficiency in available technology, including clienteling tools, social media for social selling, and Google Workspace programs; advanced proficiency is preferred.
  • A history of building, leading, motivating, and coaching teams to achieve objectives.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to structure messages clearly and logically using the appropriate communication medium.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to stand, bend, climb stairs, and lift and carry up to 10 pounds.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule based on business needs, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Responsibilities
  • Own the sales experience within the Saks Fifth Avenue store and contribute to achievement of company objectives.
  • Facilitate partnerships across functions and leverage team skills to build a customer-centric sales experience.
  • Develop the clienteling skills and selling behaviors of direct reports.
  • Maintain high visibility on the selling floor to coach and develop the selling force.
  • Build sustainable client relationships through exceptional service and regular outreach.
  • Oversee onboarding, training, ongoing education, and performance management of the selling team.
  • Recruit and onboard new hires, hiring quality talent and building a talent bench.
  • Support team members in identifying career development goals and opportunities for growth and exposure.
  • Set clear goals for direct reports in alignment with department objectives and support achievement strategies.
  • Lead the team in enforcing policies and procedures and ensuring associate understanding.
  • Evaluate and calibrate the performance and productivity of direct reports, provide feedback, and coach and mentor associates on improvement opportunities.
  • Develop direct reports' personal brands as fashion authorities through proactive outreach and social media platforms.
  • Drive continued education initiatives for direct reports, including product knowledge training, client events and experiences, and targeted selling and clienteling.
  • Promote a positive environment of achievement, recognition, and celebration.
  • Resolve work-related concerns and conflicts fairly and with minimal disruption.
  • Empower the team to take ownership of internal and external customer problems and resolve them quickly.
  • Oversee department associate scheduling and manage the team's daily task prioritization.
  • Create and maintain an environment of trust and collaboration by encouraging feedback and recommendations.
  • Model how to challenge the status quo appropriately through truthful and candid communication.
  • Create a friendly, upbeat atmosphere where customer service is consistent with company standards.
  • Role-model exceptional service and client relationship-building skills, plan and support client appointments, and inform clients about in-store events.
  • Execute in-store client-development initiatives and collaborate with store leadership, marketing, vendors, and merchants on client events and experiences.
  • Build positive and productive relationships by identifying and meeting the needs of team members, customers, partners, and the community.
  • Build a cohesive customer-service-driven team and oversee customer-service efforts and escalations.
  • Use data-driven methods to identify client-spending patterns, increase wallet share, and drive repeat business.
  • Increase new-client acquisition and strengthen existing relationships through social media, referrals, networking, and other marketing tools.
  • Use clienteling tools to deliver service and targeted recommendations based on shopping history and preferences.
  • Stay informed about new merchandise deliveries to maximize selling potential.
  • Drive maximum sales and growth through the development of client advisors and client relationships.
  • Establish plans and manage team execution, anticipating and adjusting for risks and roadblocks.
  • Execute in-store plans and strategies to build client relationships and meet client-development goals.
  • Analyze customer behaviors, trends, and preferences and adjust processes and standards accordingly.
  • Support audit compliance and enforce department and stockroom controls, as applicable.
  • Stay informed about business drivers, industry trends, and competitors to identify and pursue opportunities.
  • Track progress against departmental strategies.
  • Share information, best practices, and ideas with the team to improve business and performance.
  • Make decisions using problem definition, data analysis, hypothesis testing, and input from others.
  • Use critical thinking to analyze problems and recommend viable solutions.
  • Champion change initiatives and explain their benefits and challenges to affected team members and others.

  • A 4-year degree.
  • Working knowledge and appreciation of the Saks Fifth Avenue business and the fashion industry.
