Requirements
  • Associates Degree and Licensed Respiratory Therapist by the applicable state where services will be performed AND fifteen (15) plus years of leadership experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field and eight (8) years of experience
  • Eight (8) years of progressive leadership experience in home medical equipment, durable medical equipment (DME), or a related healthcare operations field
  • Strong enterprise-level strategic planning and execution skills
  • Proven operational leadership across multiple sites or regions
  • Financial acumen with experience managing complex budgets and driving profitability
  • Deep understanding of Home Medical Equipment/Durable Medical Equipment regulations and quality standards
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Track record of leading high-performing teams through engagement and accountability
  • Forward-thinking mindset with the ability to identify and implement innovative solutions
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with competing priorities
  • Flexibility to travel frequently across the WVU Medicine service area
Responsibilities
  • Lead and oversee the HME division at the enterprise level, ensuring alignment with WVU Medicine’s mission, vision, and strategic priorities across all locations
  • Develop and execute strategic plans to expand and strengthen HME services, including growth into new markets, expanded product lines, and partnerships with other WVU Medicine programs and service lines
  • Direct daily operational performance across all HME sites, focusing on efficiency, standardization of processes, and quality of care
  • Oversee and manage a multi-million-dollar enterprise budget, driving operational efficiencies and financial performance, including achieving and sustaining positive operating margins
  • Lead and develop a team of approximately 60 employees across multiple locations, fostering a collaborative culture focused on accountability, service excellence, and continuous improvement
  • Ensure full compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, as well as accreditation standards and internal policies, maintaining high standards for quality and safety
  • Partner with system executives, clinical leadership, supply chain, hospital leaders, physicians, and external vendors to deliver coordinated and seamless HME services across the continuum of care
  • Drive innovation by identifying new opportunities, implementing best practices, and leveraging technology to improve patient care, operational workflows, and business outcomes
  • Establish clear metrics for success, regularly monitoring performance outcomes and making data-driven decisions to ensure the division meets or exceeds organizational goals
