Requirements
  • A high school diploma and two years journey-level technical experience in a related laboratory setting.
  • A bachelor's degree in a related scientific discipline may be substituted for the required work experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid drivers license.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts as required.
  • Ability to work overtime as required.
  • Ability to learn and use new processes, tools and equipment as required.
Responsibilities
  • Conduct molecular biology experiments, including gene expression analysis (qPCR), staining brain tissue (Immunohistochemistry), and developing gene and protein manipulation viral constructs with PCR and restriction enzymes.
  • Conduct animal behavior assays, including exposing them to chronic stressful environments and/or drugs to examine the stress- and drug-related behavioral phenotypes. And collecting brain and other tissue samples from rodents.
  • Collect data, analyze data, plan experiments, make records of experiments, and work with other lab members to help with any difficulties in running assays.
  • Ensure laboratory inventory is up to date, including supplying the experimental items and purchasing experimental items.
  • Other duties as assigned.
