Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree in accounting or a relevant degree is required; an Associate's degree in accounting plus relevant years of experience will also be considered.
  • Experience with QuickBooks Online, Justworks, Bill.com, and Ramp is preferred.
  • Experience with Google Sheets and Microsoft Excel is required.
  • Experience working in a startup or growth environment is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize and manage multiple tasks while meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to provide finance-related administrative support across the organization.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information professionally.
Responsibilities
  • Support the day-to-day accounting operations of the business.
  • Process accounts receivable by invoicing clients, monitoring and recording payments, reconciling non-electronic deposits, collecting overdue payments, and resolving customer billing discrepancies.
  • Process accounts payable by onboarding vendors into Ramp, reviewing invoices for approvals and general ledger coding, maintaining vendor records, reconciling vendor statements, monitoring outstanding payables, and ensuring timely payment.
  • Submit 1099 forms to the Internal Revenue Service accurately and on time.
  • Post payroll reports to the general ledger, including payroll allocation by class.
  • Assist with month-end close by reconciling assigned bank and credit card accounts and preparing journal entries.
  • Maintain the general ledger for revenue, expenditures, and paid media spend, along with supporting schedules.
  • Monitor the accounting and finance email account and respond to or escalate issues promptly.
  • Assist with preparing financial information for reporting and tax filings.
  • Collaborate with the Finance Director to create and track the annual budget.
  • Update fiscal policies and procedures documentation.
  • Reconcile paid media balances and prepare refund requests for closed and inactive accounts.
  • Conduct transaction research and support ad hoc financial reporting.
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and increase efficiency.
  • Keep the Finance Director informed through sound judgment and communication.
