Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Prior housekeeping experience in lodging, housing, hotels, hospitals, or care facilities is preferred.
  • Must pass appropriate security clearances under company policy.
  • Must be able to stand, lift, bend, stretch, reach, crawl, kneel, see, hear, learn, read, concentrate, think, and communicate.
  • Must be able to push or pull 60 pounds unassisted and lift or carry 30 pounds unassisted.
  • Must understand proper handling of linens, terry, and supplies while considering sanitation and cost controls.
  • Must know laundry room procedures, safety and security measures, housekeeping materials, supplies, and equipment.
  • Must maintain productivity standards, logs, and inventories.
  • Must be able to work independently and as a team member, multitask, communicate professionally, maintain guest privacy, and use necessary computer systems, including Quore and Hotel Effectiveness.
  • Must be available to work any day or shift, including weekends.
  • Must comply with grooming, uniform, and other company standards.
Responsibilities
  • Provide efficient, courteous, and professional guest service while following hospitality standards, guidelines, and procedures.
  • Maintain the laundry and related facilities in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Receive and sort soiled linens and terry.
  • Treat stained linen when applicable and salvageable; record damaged or stained linen and alert the supervisor when items must be removed from inventory.
  • Operate washers and dryers as intended by the manufacturer, including cleaning lint traps, wiping machines, and requesting maintenance assistance for repairs.
  • Fold clean terry and linen and stock shelves and storage rooms.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Know and follow emergency procedures.
  • Respond promptly to guest requests and inquiries.
  • Maintain a clean and professional appearance while following grooming and uniform standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned that the associate is capable of performing.
