Responsibilities
  • Support the Senior Manager of Social Media Channels in driving the strategy, execution, and measurement of social media efforts within a specific channel.
  • Assist in developing and using audio, video, and text content appropriate to the channel's needs and purpose.
  • Serve as a liaison between the community and the brand.
  • Conduct traditional media planning and outreach and manage social channels.
  • Support merchandising and marketing priorities, grow engagement in traditional and social media, and drive traffic into stores and awareness of campaigns and products.
  • Design and execute communications strategies for social campaigns, including editorial calendars, positioning, and messaging.
  • Advise on and recommend traditional and social media integration into business priorities, goals, and objectives, and share knowledge with key stakeholders.
  • Direct an external agency team in executing activities.
  • Explore and evaluate emerging social media opportunities and tools, and develop strategies and proposals for effective social media campaigns.
  • Listen to, monitor, and identify trends in conversations, and translate insights into marketing plans.
  • Ensure programs are delivered on time and within budget, with appropriate measurements to determine the effectiveness of marketing and social spending and resources.
  • Establish benchmarks for measuring the impact of social media programs, analyze and report campaign effectiveness, and maximize results.
  • Analyze sales, economic, demographic, competitor, and voice-of-customer data to develop and execute marketing strategies for key markets.
  • Work cross-functionally with Merchandising, Marketing, dot com, Public Relations, and Social stakeholders.
  • Drive internal and external partnerships, including with Marketing managers and Merchants, to align communication campaigns with the business.

Major US retailers have received over $5 billion in tariff refunds this week alone, with Walmart getting $2.9 billion, Target $994 million, and Home Depot $730 million. The Trump administration is refunding approximately $166 billion in tariff revenue after the Supreme Court struck down its sweeping tariff policy, having returned $100 billion so far. Despite studies showing consumers bore the brunt of initial tariff costs through higher prices, most companies are reinvesting the refunds rather than passing savings to shoppers. Retail executives indicated in earnings calls they plan to put the money back into their businesses. Consumers have filed class-action lawsuits against companies receiving refunds, but none have concluded. Americans have limited recourse to recover funds if companies don't voluntarily lower prices.

Home Depot's Temco Logistics lays off 223 workers across three US states

Home Express Delivery Service, operating as Temco Logistics, is laying off 71 workers in Dallas as it closes its flatbed delivery centre in the Mountain Creek neighbourhood. The facility at 9222 W. Jefferson Blvd. will shut down, with affected employees being separated from employment beginning 26 September. Temco Logistics, a delivery and logistics company providing last-mile and white-glove delivery services for appliances and furniture, was acquired by The Home Depot in 2023. The company has filed similar notices in Florida and Georgia, where it is also closing flatbed delivery centres, resulting in a total of 223 job losses across three states.

Morgan Stanley sees $420 upside in Home Depot amid housing market freeze

Morgan Stanley has maintained its overweight rating and $420 price target on Home Depot following the company's first-quarter fiscal 2026 results, calling it "a turnkey stock without the turn". The firm views the stock's current discount as an opportunity, despite Home Depot trading down 9.14% year to date.
