Ryan Companies has completed two charter school projects in Louisiana, including a new K-8 campus in Covington and the latest phase of a K-12 campus in Maurice, while preparing to begin construction on additional education projects across the state. The commercial real estate developer announced it completed four charter school projects across the Southeast in partnership with education management company Charter Schools USA (CSUSA) and development partner Red Apple Development. The schools are expected to open for the 2026-27 academic year. In Louisiana, Ryan completed the Academy of Classical Education in Covington, a new K-8 campus that marks the company's first school project in St. Tammany Parish. Following strong enrollment, construction is expected to begin in August on a high school expansion and new athletic facilities, with completion planned for 2027. Ryan also completed the fourth phase of Vermilion Charter Academy's K-12 campus in Maurice. The project added two academic buildings and a sports complex featuring a jogging track, multipurpose field with spectator seating, and baseball and softball fields. The company said another Louisiana project, a new K-5 charter school in Broussard, is expected to break ground in September. The Louisiana projects are part of a broader expansion that includes four recently completed schools and five additional school construction or campus expansion projects planned across Louisiana, Florida and South Carolina. "Our team is proud to deliver these four impactful new campuses to their communities in Florida and Louisiana," said Max Bosso, vice president of real estate development at Ryan Companies. "We look forward to continuing our longstanding partnership with CSUSA as we break ground on several projects, bringing much-needed educational space to growing regions throughout the Southeast." Proposed Lakeland data center 'nowhere near' scale of Fort Meade site. Lakeland Ledger May 29, 2026, 2:45 p.m. ET Public outcry over a proposal to build a data center in southwest Lakeland has shocked city commissioners, who were largely unaware the plans existed. Lakeland-based engineering firm Kimley-Horn submitted a conceptual site plan to the city May 5 to build a data center for Ryan Companies U.S. Inc. off of Old Tampa highway and Wilkerson Road, as first reported by LkldNow. "We have received an application that indicates some form of data center," City Manager Shawn Sherrouse said. "That is about all we know. We do not have any details on that, we have no idea what kind of city services would have to be provided to that."

The order comes after the Minnesota Center for Environmental Advocacy sued Pine Island and developer Ryan Companies to stop Project Skyway, arguing it did not receive an adequate environmental impact study. The Pine Island City Council approved a conditional use permit for the site in January. Similar lawsuits have been filed to block data center projects in Lakeville, Hermantown, Monticello, and Faribault.

Ryan breaks ground on new industrial development in Bellwood, continuing successful chicagoland revitalization.

Ryan breaks ground on new industrial development in Bellwood, continuing successful chicagoland revitalization. May 26, 2026 Ryan Companies US, Inc., with offices in Chicago and Westmont, in a joint venture with Washington Capital Management, Inc., on behalf of their client, announced today the financial land closing and start of construction of a 190,000-square-foot speculative industrial facility in Bellwood, Ill. The project, located on the site of the former SureBuilt building, represents a continuation of Ryan's successful model of revitalizing underutilized industrial sites, a strategy proven by the company's transformative Pullman Crossings industrial park on Chicago's South Side. "The 13-acre site presents a rare opportunity in Bellwood to ensure an economically sound future for the residents of Bellwood," said Mark Koske, director of real estate development, Ryan Companies. "The facility is not just about attracting tenants. It's about attracting new investment and creating jobs on a well-located site, and we are excited to partner with a forward-thinking community like Bellwood to make it happen." Located at 840 25th Avenue, the new facility is positioned to attract a diverse range of industrial users. The site offers logistical advantages that are critical for modern tenants, including immediate access to Interstates 290, 294 and 88, and proximity to O'Hare International Airport and a large, skilled labor pool. The facility will feature Class A amenities, including a 32-foot clear height, ESFR fire protection, and exterior bike racks. Its flexible design will accommodate uses from warehousing and distribution to light manufacturing, adding needed modern space to a supply-constrained submarket. Ryan is the developer and builder for the project, with expected completion slated for the spring of 2027. Ryan's work at Pullman Crossings, which began in 2017, resulted in five industrial facilities totaling more than 1 million square feet, including the Whole Foods Midwest Distribution Center and an Amazon last-mile distribution center. The industrial park has created more than 600 jobs and transformed what was previously one of the largest undeveloped sites in Chicago.
