Requirements
  • Demonstrated experience leading B2B e-commerce strategy and/or digital channel development in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment, with success driving sales growth.
  • Industry experience in healthcare, life sciences, medical devices, diagnostics, specialty distribution, or other B2B sectors involving direct supply chains; experience in regulated or relationship-intensive industries is valued.
  • A Bachelor’s degree is required.
  • At least 10 years of progressive experience, including meaningful depth in B2B e-commerce strategy, digital channel development, or digital marketing in a complex commercial environment.
  • A track record of operating successfully in a matrixed organization, influencing without direct authority, and building coalitions across functions and levels.
  • Experience presenting to and engaging with senior executives as a strategic thought partner.
  • Ability to structure ambiguous problems, synthesize complex data and market dynamics, and deliver clear recommendations.
  • Deep understanding of B2B buying dynamics and the interplay between digital and field sales channels in a relationship-driven selling environment.

Responsibilities
  • Own the end-to-end B2B US e-commerce commercial strategy, defining the vision, priorities, and multi-year roadmap to drive customer acquisition, retention, and revenue growth.
  • Act as general manager for the US e-commerce business and develop growth initiatives that align the roadmap with commercial goals and evolving customer needs while partnering with Digital and Customer Experience organizations responsible for technical delivery and engineering.
  • Translate macro trends, competitive dynamics, and customer insights into strategic positions; build investment business cases and present recommendations to vice president, senior vice president, and business-unit-head stakeholders.
  • Identify and evaluate new business models, market expansion opportunities, and innovative channel strategies for B2B digital commerce in healthcare.
  • Develop and oversee e-commerce strategies to deepen existing customer relationships and reduce churn among healthcare providers, institutional buyers, and other B2B account segments.
  • Identify friction points and opportunities across the digital buying journey and partner with Digital and Marketing to improve customer lifetime value.
  • Define and monitor key performance indicators for platform adoption, customer engagement, digital revenue contribution, and retention, and hold the organization accountable for outcomes.
  • Collaborate with Sales to ensure e-commerce and representative-led channels are complementary and create a seamless omnichannel customer experience.
  • Monitor emerging B2B e-commerce trends, competitive activity, and adjacent industry practices and translate insights into strategic recommendations.
  • Champion structured pilots and experiments to validate new commercial ideas before scaled deployment.
  • Evaluate and recommend technology, partnership, and capability investments that could unlock commercial value on the B2B platform.
  • Co-own the platform roadmap with the Digital E-Commerce organization, ensuring business priorities are articulated, sequenced, and reflected in technology delivery plans.
  • Influence digital-team priorities and resource allocation through relationships, data, and a clear commercial perspective without direct engineering authority.
  • Serve as the primary commercial interface to the Digital organization, bridging business strategy and platform execution.
  • Drive accountability for User Acceptance Testing and commercial-readiness activities and ensure platform capabilities are validated against real customer scenarios before deployment.
  • Lead and develop a team of e-commerce professionals, foster a high-performance culture, and focus on their career development.
  • Build relationships across Commercial, Digital, Marketing, Customer Experience, Legal, and Finance to align stakeholders and remove execution barriers.
  • Represent the commercial e-commerce function in senior leadership forums and prepare and deliver executive communications, business reviews, and investment proposals.
  • Partner with Finance and Commercial leadership to develop annual plans, investment cases, and performance-tracking frameworks tied to e-commerce strategy.

EU approves $448M German subsidy to Sanofi for insulin production security

The European Commission has approved a €400 million subsidy from Germany to pharmaceutical company Sanofi to maintain its Frankfurt insulin production site. The Commission stated that without this aid, Sanofi would close the German facility, reducing insulin supply security across the European Economic Area. The subsidy aims to compensate Sanofi for costs related to a service of general economic interest, strengthening insulin supply resilience for German patients. In return, Sanofi must build a new insulin factory in Frankfurt by 31 December 2032 and guarantee minimum annual production of 1.1 tonnes until 2042. Sanofi is among the world's leading insulin producers. The company announced in 2024 a €1.3 billion investment in Frankfurt to construct a new complex replacing existing facilities.

Altesa BioSciences wins award for oversubscribed $75M Series B to advance COPD therapies

Atlanta-based Altesa BioSciences has won the 2026 Georgia Life Sciences Golden Helix Award for Deal of the Year, recognising its oversubscribed $75 million Series B financing round. The funding, led by Forbion with participation from Sanofi, Medicxi, Pitango, and Atlantic Partners, will advance the clinical-stage pharmaceutical company's lead therapy, vapendavir. Vapendavir is an investigational oral treatment for chronic lung diseases including COPD and asthma. The drug is currently being evaluated in the Phase 2b CARDINAL trial, which will enrol 900 COPD patients across the US and UK. The Georgia Research Alliance Venture Fund was an early investor in Altesa. The company's scientific founders previously helped develop molnupiravir, one of the earliest COVID-19 treatments.

InduPro raises $77M Series B, doses first patient in Phase 1 trial of bispecific ADC for lung cancer

InduPro has closed a $77 million Series B financing round and dosed its first patient in a Phase 1 study of IDP-001, its lead oncology programme. The biotechnology company is developing IDP-001, a bispecific antibody-drug conjugate targeting EGFR and a novel tumour-associated proximity antigen, for treating advanced squamous non-small cell lung cancer and other solid tumours. The Column Group led the financing round, with participation from Vida Ventures, MRL Ventures Fund, Emerson Collective, Euclidean Capital, Solasta Ventures, Sanofi, and Eli Lilly and Company. Proceeds will support Phase 1 clinical development and early proof-of-concept data generation for IDP-001, whilst advancing InduPro's broader preclinical pipeline. InduPro uses a proximity-guided platform to map protein spatial relationships on cell surfaces for discovering selective co-target pairs.

Scribe Therapeutics prices upsized $129M IPO at top of range

Scribe Therapeutics, a clinical-stage biotechnology company developing in vivo CRISPR technologies, has priced its upsized initial public offering at $15.00 per share, the high end of its range. The company is offering 8,580,000 shares, expecting to raise $128.7 million in gross proceeds before fees and expenses. Scribe has also granted underwriters a 30-day option to purchase up to 1,287,000 additional shares. The shares are expected to begin trading on the Nasdaq Global Market on 24 July 2026 under the ticker symbol "SCTX", with the offering closing on 27 July 2026. Additionally, Scribe has agreed to sell 500,000 shares at the same price to Sanofi in a concurrent private placement. Leerink Partners, Goldman Sachs, Guggenheim Securities, and Wells Fargo Securities are serving as joint book-running managers.
