Job Description
CHEP has sustainability at its heart and the source of our timber is right at the centre of it. Your role would be overseeing and managing all aspects of timber CoC management systems for all Certified CHEP Entities.
This role can be based in any location as this is a global role and will require regular travel internationally as part of the responsibilities.
Our Chain of Custody Manager will support Global Procurement in the management of the CoC systems for new and existing CoC certified entities. You’ll ensure that our timber products meet regulatory requirements, adhere to sustainability standards, and maintain integrity throughout the supply chain process, where applicable. The role will also be responsible to implement new CoC certifications according to Brambles Global Lumber Sustainability and Procurement programs.
Responsibilities:
- Compliance Assurance: Ensure compliance with international regulations, certifications, and standards related to timber sourcing, including but not limited to FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) and PEFC (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification).
- Supply Chain Oversight: Oversee the entire timber supply chain process, from sourcing raw materials to production and distribution, ensuring transparency and accountability at each stage.
- Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Identify potential risks within the timber supply chain, such as illegal logging or unethical practices, and implement measures to mitigate these risks effectively.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal teams, suppliers, industry associations, and regulatory bodies to promote responsible timber sourcing practices and foster transparency within the supply chain.
- Auditing and Verification: Conduct regular audits and assessments of timber suppliers and manufacturing facilities to verify compliance with chain of custody requirements and sustainability standards.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency, transparency, and sustainability of timber supply chain operations.
- Training and Education: Provide training and guidance to internal teams and external partners on timber chain of custody protocols, regulatory requirements, and best practices.
- Reporting and Communication: Prepare regular reports and presentations on timber chain of custody performance, communicating key findings, challenges, and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders.
