Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • The associate must pass appropriate security clearances.
  • The associate must be honest and trustworthy due to access to guestrooms and property.
  • The associate must be able to stand, lift, bend, stretch, reach, crawl, kneel, see, hear, read, concentrate, think, learn, and communicate.
  • The associate must be able to push or pull 60 pounds unassisted and lift or carry 30 pounds unassisted.
  • The associate must be able to stand for eight hours.
  • The associate must know proper handling of linens, terry, and other supplies while considering sanitation and cost controls.
  • The associate must know laundry room procedures, safety and security measures, training checklist guidelines, and the materials, supplies, and equipment used in housekeeping.
  • The associate must work within productivity standards, maintain logs and inventories, follow laundry procedures, and organize work effectively.
  • The associate must be able to work alone without direct supervision and as a team member.
  • The associate must comply with all standards, multitask, remain service-centric, communicate professionally with guests and coworkers, use messages and communication log books, learn and use necessary computer systems including Quore and Hotel Effectiveness, and exercise discretion to maintain guest privacy.
  • The associate may be required to work any day or shift, including weekends.
  • The position requires physical presence at the hotel and is not suitable for telecommuting or remote work.
Responsibilities
  • Receive and sort soiled linens and terry.
  • Treat stained linen when applicable and salvageable; maintain records of damaged or stained linen and terry; and alert the supervisor when items must be removed from inventory.
  • Operate washers and dryers as intended by the manufacturer, including cleaning lint traps, wiping machine exteriors, and requesting maintenance assistance for repairs.
  • Fold clean terry and linen, then stock shelves and storage rooms.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of emergency procedures.
  • Respond to guest requests and inquiries immediately.
  • Maintain a clean and professional appearance while adhering to grooming and uniform standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned that the associate is capable of performing.
Desired Qualifications
  • Prior housekeeping experience in lodging, housing, hotels, hospitals, or care facilities is preferred.
