Description
Under the direction of the Gift Shop Manager, the Part-Time Gift Shop Lead supports the daily operations of the gift shop. This role focuses on providing excellent customer service, assisting with merchandise management, and maintaining the shop's visual and operational standards. This is a temporary position that will end on 1/11/2026.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Customer Service Excellence: Deliver outstanding service by engaging with guests, addressing inquiries, and ensuring a welcoming atmosphere
- Merchandise Flow: Assist with restocking, organizing, and maintaining the sales floor. Ensure merchandise is displayed attractively and replenished as needed
- Point of Sale: Perform sales transactions accurately, reconcile paperwork, and ensure proper handling of credit card processes
- Visual Merchandising: Maintain attractive, clean, and organized displays in line with the shop’s standards
- Operational Support: Open and close the shop during assigned shifts, following established procedures for security and operations
- Team Collaboration: Work alongside staff and volunteers to ensure smooth operations and uphold customer service standards
- Inventory Oversight: Assist with tracking inventory levels, reporting low-stock items, and supporting periodic inventory counts

Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience: At least one year of retail or customer service experience; leadership experience preferred
- Skills: Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills. Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Technology: Proficient with point-of-sale systems and basic computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel)
- Customer Service: Demonstrated ability to deliver exceptional guest experiences
- Schedule: Must be available to work nights and weekends regularly
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Mobility: Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and perform light lifting (up to 25 lbs.)
- Environment: Comfortable working in a retail environment that includes busy periods and interacting with diverse guests
