Requirements
  • Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO), board certified or board eligible in specialization required.
  • Completion of an accredited residency and fellowship {if applicable} training program required;
  • Current or interim permit to practice medicine from the State of Ohio Medical Board required;
  • Board certification or eligibility from the American Board of Radiation Oncology required;
  • Active certification from the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) required;
Responsibilities
  • Physician specializing in Radiation Oncology to serve as a member of the Department of Radiation Oncology; directs and provides direct and indirect patient care services in both inpatient and outpatient settings; conducts ambulatory clinics; interviews, obtains and reviews medical history of patients; performs physical examinations to assess medical or surgical needs; performs Radiation Therapy procedures; orders special procedures, diagnostic testing, and other ancillary services; responds to consultation requests; determines, prescribes and implements treatment plans and/or medications required; documents all services and instructions provided in medical record; educates patients and promotes wellness, prevention and early detection by providing materials, resources and services to patient and their families; directs and participates in quality assessment and improvement activities; serves as preceptor and provides bedside training of residents, fellows, medical students, undergraduate & graduate students, nursing staff, and other allied medical professionals in the specialty of Radiation Oncology; ensures continuing medical education requirements are met; participates in department, college, medical center and university committees and other service activities

  • Sub-specialty board certification or eligibility from the American Board of Radiation Oncology preferred.
