POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Senior Software Engineering Manager to lead our dynamic engineering team. The successful candidate will have substantial experience in managing engineering teams, partnering effectively with product and other roles, and will possess a deep understanding of public cloud platforms like AWS. Experience with payroll, payment or invoicing systems will be highly regarded. Strong written and verbal communication skills are vital for this role, and candidates able to demonstrate excellent written communication will be given special consideration.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead, mentor, and grow a diverse team of engineers, promoting a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
• Drive the technical roadmap and strategic direction of the engineering team in alignment with the company’s overall goals.
• Collaborate closely with the product team and other stakeholders to ensure efficient execution of projects.
• Be hands-on in coding and architecture, setting a high bar for the team’s output.
• Develop and manage effective and efficient engineering processes, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, scalable solutions.
• Leverage deep knowledge of AWS or other public cloud platforms to architect and implement robust, scalable, and secure systems.
• Foster an inclusive environment that values diversity and encourages professional growth.
• Understand and integrate payroll, payment, or invoicing systems into the broader engineering scope, as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. Advanced degree preferred.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in software engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Proven experience leading and managing engineering teams, demonstrating strong leadership and team development skills.
• Strong technical skills with a hands-on approach to problem-solving and the ability to understand complex technical concepts.
• Extensive experience with AWS or other public cloud platforms.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, capable of communicating complex concepts clearly and effectively.
