The Benefits & Leave of Absence Partner position is responsible for standing-up and administering the McGriff leave of absence and medical accommodation programs. This position is the primary point of contact for teammates and managers in navigating the leave and accommodations process. This position is also responsible for benefits onboarding and offboarding.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.
1. Stand-up and administer the leave of absence process for McGriff to ensure a program that is focused on an effective and smooth leave of absence process that is also compliant with applicable laws and regulations. This includes FMLA, state-specific leaves, military leaves, etc.
2. In partnership with HRBP’s, administer the medical accommodations program.
3. In partnership with benefits and leave COE’s, draft and administer leave of absence, accommodation and benefits onboarding/offboarding policies and procedures.
4. Handle Workday administration of leaves of absence and benefits onboarding and offboarding.
5. Consults with management and employees on providing expert guidance for leaves of absence, medical accommodations and benefits onboarding and offboarding.
6. Works closely with employees, managers, internal leave and benefits partners and outsourced vendors and carriers to ensure employee inquiries and escalations are handled timely and appropriately.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and related experience
2. Six years of demonstrated experience using principles, practices, and/or methodologies associated with the Human Resources discipline.
3. Excellent organization, prioritization, and management skills; ability to respond to changing priorities and meet deadlines.
4. Demonstrate sound judgment when responding to requests for data and/or sharing of data and information.
5. Strong analytical capability with proven success in managing large quantities of confidential data.
6. Ability to find clarity and direction in ambiguous situations.
7. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
8. Ability to interact effectively with internal and external parties at all levels of the organization and to be highly collaborative and drive partnership and alignment across HR areas and the business.
9. Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies.
10. Ability to acquire a thorough understanding of the organization’s hierarchy, jobs, qualifications, compensation practices, and the administrative practices related to those factors.
11. Possess expert proficiency and demonstrate the ability to develop reports and presentations leveraging advanced Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Excel (pivot tables, v-lookup, charts and graphs)
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Significant experience in administering leave of absence programs. Experience with benefits administration and medical accommodations is also needed.
2. Knowledge of federal and state leave laws
3. Experience working in the insurance industry.
4. PHR or SHRM-CP certification
