Requirements
  • Field installation experience in security environments involving fire alarm, intrusion, or access control systems.
  • Current and valid state-required physical security and/or life safety license applicable to the technology.
  • Knowledge of National Fire Protection Association standards, including NFPA 70 and NFPA 72.
  • Availability and willingness to work at heights of 20 to 60 feet on lifts.
  • Experience reading blueprints and site maps.
  • Excellent customer relationship and verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic personal protective equipment and reliable transportation during the training period before a company vehicle is issued.
  • Computer, laptop, and smartphone proficiency.
  • High proficiency with email and spreadsheets, and the ability to learn internal systems.
  • A valid driver's license with a clean driving record and no DUI or DWI conviction in the last three years.
  • Willingness to travel moderately, up to 20–30%, and work flexible shifts, including overnight shifts.
  • Reliable personal transportation during the initial training period.
  • Willingness to attend a mandatory one-week, in-person technician orientation in Lowell, Arkansas upon hire.
Responsibilities
  • Assist with pre-installation opportunities by designing and planning technical solutions.
  • Perform new installations and provide technical escalation support both on-site at customer locations and remotely by phone and specialized tools.
  • Install, troubleshoot, and repair cabling systems and equipment in IP video, access control, intrusion alarm, local area network and wide area network infrastructure, and wireless local area networks.
  • Run low-voltage cabling in commercial buildings, including drilling concrete walls and performing limited conduit-bending work.
  • Complete wiring, connections, terminations, and equipment installations for access control and intrusion systems in accordance with customer satisfaction and contractual requirements.
  • Install, repair, and upgrade fire alarm systems and program fire alarm control panels using building plans and electrical layouts.
  • Mount sensors in appropriate locations, including drilling holes for cabling and accessing crawlspaces or attics.
  • Complete wiring, connections, and equipment installations for fire alarm systems in compliance with electrical and fire codes.
  • Test newly installed fire alarm systems and component devices to ensure they are operational.
  • Adhere to project safety requirements established by the company, customers, or the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
  • Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor.
  • Ensure all work complies with current codes and regulations.
  • Assist and collaborate with the installation team lead or project manager regarding on-site work schedules and timely equipment delivery.
  • Conduct tests to ensure newly installed systems and component devices are operational.
  • Troubleshoot new system installations to ensure proper functioning and compliance with local, county, state, or federal codes and legal or insurance requirements.
Desired Qualifications
  • NICET certification.
  • Experience with multiple intrusion and access control system manufacturers.
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
