Requirements
  • Two years of general clerical experience that includes keyboarding, word processing, or other experience generating documents.
  • An associate degree in any field.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple varying duties within the team and independently.
  • Reliable and highly experienced in prioritizing and meeting critical daily, weekly, and monthly deadlines.
  • Excellent analytical and research skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Must maintain confidentiality while performing job duties.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills when providing excellent customer service.
  • Ability to manage emotional subject matter.
Responsibilities
  • Identify and request required documents from members, medical providers, employers, and third-party insurance companies to support retirement counselors and management in making final eligibility decisions for disability benefits.
  • Review forms for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with Oregon Administrative Rules (OAR) and Oregon Revised Statutes (ORS).
  • Analyze anomalies to determine appropriate course of action and refer to senior staff when appropriate.
  • Review and screen Disability team email box.
  • Ensure records are imaged and organized correctly in disability case management folders.
  • Print, mail, and fax medical requests and correspondence.
