Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in testing and evaluating electrochemical systems (e.g., batteries, capacitors, fuel cells, catalysts)
  • Strong data analysis and statistical analysis capabilities to turn data into actionable insights (JMP, Python are a plus)
  • Bias-to-action to root cause and prevent product failures, leveraging failure prediction and investigation methods, such as FMEA and RCA
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration and communication skills with diverse set of stakeholders
  • Ability to independently create and advance experiments with attention to detail
  • BS, MS, or PhD in in chemistry, chemical engineering, materials engineering or related field
Responsibilities
  • Drive experimental design, testing, and analysis to validate electrode performance, durability, and reliability requirements both as an independent product and as part of a full electrochemical cell.
  • Develop new methods (such as accelerated testing), support development of new test vehicles, and troubleshoot cell testing issues
  • Identify performance gaps between product testing and lab-scale electrochemical data, and implement measures to close those gaps
  • Support product risk assessments (e.g. failure modes and effects analyses), and lead risk reduction and mitigation efforts.
  • Develop mechanistic understandings, by incorporating materials characterization with electrochemical data analysis.
  • Work with suppliers and our quality team to create scalable electrochemical quality acceptance tests.
