Requirements
  • A PhD degree in Anthropology, Archaeology or a related field.
Responsibilities
  • Hold a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in North American Archaeology starting in Fall 2026 at Louisiana State University.
  • Be willing to establish a research program in the Southeastern United States and Louisiana.
  • Possess the capacity to mentor undergraduate and graduate students, including organizing a field school and integrating students into their research.
  • Teach courses including North American Archaeology, Louisiana Archaeology, and Field Methods in Archaeology, and eventually develop courses aligned with the candidate's research expertise.
  • Demonstrate a promising program of high-quality, theoretically-informed, and problem-oriented research and publication.
  • Demonstrate the ability to secure funding for research and program development.
  • Collaborate with Indigenous communities and other stakeholders across disciplinary boundaries.
