Requirements
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain the surgical schedule, ensuring optimal utilization of operating rooms and resources.
- Coordinate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to schedule surgeries, ensuring compatibility with their availability and patient needs.
- Gather and verify necessary patient information, including medical history, insurance coverage, and necessary pre-operative procedures.
- Communicate with patients, providing detailed instructions regarding surgery preparation, including fasting guidelines, medication restrictions, and pre-operative testing requirements.
- Serve as a liaison between patients, medical professionals, and insurance companies to ensure all required authorizations and paperwork are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
- Manage and maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic records of surgical procedures, patient demographics, and pertinent medical information.
- Assist in resolving scheduling conflicts and accommodate urgent or emergency surgical cases as needed.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of patient information and uphold ethical standards in all interactions with patients and medical professionals.
Required Skills and Responsibilities:
- Previous experience as a surgical scheduler or in a healthcare administrative role is highly desirable.
- In-depth knowledge of surgical procedures, medical terminology, and relevant healthcare regulations.
- Proficiency in using electronic medical records (EMR) systems and scheduling software.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Superb attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate and complete documentation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.

Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree preferred
