Requirements
  • Previous experience as a surgical scheduler or in a healthcare administrative role is highly desirable.
  • In-depth knowledge of surgical procedures, medical terminology, and relevant healthcare regulations.
  • Proficiency in using electronic medical records (EMR) systems and scheduling software.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
  • Manage and maintain the surgical schedule, ensuring optimal utilization of operating rooms and resources.
  • Coordinate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to schedule surgeries, ensuring compatibility with their availability and patient needs.
  • Gather and verify necessary patient information, including medical history, insurance coverage, and necessary pre-operative procedures.
  • Communicate with patients, providing detailed instructions regarding surgery preparation, including fasting guidelines, medication restrictions, and pre-operative testing requirements.
  • Serve as a liaison between patients, medical professionals, and insurance companies to ensure all required authorizations and paperwork are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Manage and maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic records of surgical procedures, patient demographics, and pertinent medical information.
  • Assist in resolving scheduling conflicts and accommodate urgent or emergency surgical cases as needed.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of patient information and uphold ethical standards in all interactions with patients and medical professionals.
