Requirements
  • Be at least 18 years of age.
  • Have a high school diploma or GED.
  • Be able to obtain CPR and First Aid certification and a tuberculosis test if needed.
  • Be able to pass a pre-employment background check.
  • Be able to move through positions including sitting, squatting, bending, kneeling, crouching, and reaching.
  • Be able to lift and carry children or objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Be able to work one-on-one with children with autism and respond appropriately to potentially confrontational or unpredictable situations.
Responsibilities
  • Implement individualized behavior intervention plans under the guidance of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst.
  • Use evidence-based techniques to teach communication, social, and daily living skills.
  • Help reduce interfering behaviors in children with autism.
  • Stand, walk, sit, grasp, reach, bend, kneel, crouch, squat, lift, and sometimes carry children or objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
