Requirements
  • Five to ten or more years of leadership experience leading teams and delivering results.
  • Experience managing a store or large department; retail experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the store from the sales floor and serve as the face, voice, and pace of the store.
  • Build and develop a high-performing team through coaching, feedback, teaching, and recognition.
  • Maintain store operations, including freight flow, merchandise zones, and priority setting.
  • Manage labor by flexing staffing to match business needs and remain within budget.
  • Drive sales on the sales floor by modeling selling behaviors and guiding associates.
  • Create a positive, fun, and high-performing store culture.
  • Adapt to rapid changes and shifting business needs.
  • Own store outcomes with integrity and accountability.
  • Conduct development check-ins and coaching conversations.
  • Plan labor and volume to support store performance.
  • Use company tools, resources, and programs to support store operations.
  • Deliver results in sales, labor, customer satisfaction, store scorecard performance, team development and retention, operational execution, and compliance.
  • Operate equipment and retrieve, put away, and move merchandise throughout the sales floor and stockroom.
  • Communicate accurately with customers, managers, and coworkers in person and by telephone.
  • Direct associates and assist customers across the sales floor and stockroom.
Desired Qualifications
  • Promotion from an assistant manager or co-manager role is a significant advantage.

Five Below opens Martinsville store. By Jessica Dillon Five Below has opened its new Martinsville location at the Village of Martinsville, celebrating with a ribbon-cutting ceremony July 24 and a weekend of giveaways, promotions and trivia for shoppers. The national retailer offers a variety of products, many priced at $5 or less, while also carrying select higher-priced items. District Manager Crystal Bass said the store has received an enthusiastic response from the community. "I think we're going to bring a lot of fun traffic to the shopping center," Bass said. "Everybody was super pumped up. And we opened on Tuesday, and it's been going ever since." Martinsville-Henry County Chamber of Commerce President and Executive Director Brenell Thomas welcomed the retailer to the community. "It's a big deal for Martinsville to be here. So when we talk about this crowd, just, and the amount of folks that are still coming in, they're streaming in, we know about all of the promotions that they're doing," Thomas said. Thomas said the new store gives residents another affordable shopping option close to home. "We always talk about what we don't have in Martinsville, but let's celebrate the things that we do. So this is an affordable place. I'm seeing back-to-school stuff," Thomas said. She said the store offers merchandise that previously required residents to travel or shop online. "Just a lot of the fun things that people were going out of town for now and they can get it right here at home," Thomas said. "Where we thought we might have to order online or travel to go get it, Five Below is bringing some of those oddities right here, and at an affordable price." Thomas said she had already found several items she planned to purchase, including books and a fan. Five Below is located at 240 W. Commonwealth Blvd. The store is open 9:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday. Five Below opens its 2,000th store in LaGrange. Five Below is now open in LaGrange, marking a major milestone for the national retailer as the location becomes the company's 2,000th store. The City Menus previously reported that Five Below was preparing to open in the area. The LaGrange-Troup County Chamber of Commerce recently celebrated the store's grand opening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. Five Below appoints Rodney Lastinger as chief retail officer and Christos Yatrakis as chief legal officer

Five Below has appointed Rodney Lastinger as Chief Retail Officer and Christos Yatrakis as Chief Legal Officer. Lastinger joined on 22 June, whilst Yatrakis started on 15 June. Both executives report to Chief Operating Officer Kenneth Bull. Lastinger brings extensive retail operations experience, most recently serving as Chief Operating Officer at GNC, where he oversaw more than 2,200 stores. He previously spent 18 years at Target Corporation, rising to Senior Vice President, Stores. He will lead operations across Five Below's nearly 2,000 stores. Yatrakis, who has over 20 years of legal experience, most recently served as Chief People & Legal Officer at Allbirds. He will oversee Five Below's legal function and corporate governance.

Five Below has appointed Robert Lynch as an independent director to its board, effective immediately, expanding the board to nine members. Lynch is currently chief executive officer of Shake Shack, a position he has held since May 2024. Lynch brings extensive experience leading multi-unit consumer businesses. He previously served as president and chief executive officer of Papa John's International and held senior positions at Arby's Restaurant Group, Taco Bell, H.J. Heinz Company and Procter & Gamble. He also served on Kontoor Brands' board from March 2021 to April 2026. Five Below, founded in 2002 and headquartered in Philadelphia, operates over 1,900 stores across 46 states, offering products primarily priced between $1 and $5.
