Requirements
  • 3-5 years of UK Royal Navy experience in the handling and service support of unmanned systems including AUVs and gliders
  • Close connection to RN user communities in either mine countermeasures, diving, hydrography / oceanography
  • Degree in mechanical or electrical engineering preferred
  • 2 – 4 years of experience showing ability to diagnose mechanical, electrical and software issues and provide solutions on complex systems; or equivalent combination of education and military experience may be considered
  • Experience assembling equipment, and or repairing electro mechanical systems
  • Experience with small boat, and seagoing experience on large vessels, preferred
  • Understanding of naval operations of unmanned systems preferred
  • Ability to creatively solve customer problems and design solutions based on customer needs
  • Excellent communicator, both verbal and written, with strong interpersonal skills
  • Computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office products is essential: Excel, Word and Power Point.
Responsibilities
  • Deliver Slocum and Gavia service and support
  • Answering technical inquiries from customers via website, email, text, phone, etc.
  • Diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing complex oceanographic equipment
  • Documenting all repair activities accurately and writing clear and concise repair reports for customers
  • Travel to customer sites for testing and service as required
  • Conduct Onsite Sea Acceptance Testing at customer locations
  • Conduct on-water testing and calibrations as needed
Desired Qualifications
  • Candidates must possess, or be able to obtain, a UK security clearance
  • Previous experience using Salesforce or other Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tool
  • Experience working closely with customers in sales, customer service, or technical capacity
  • Ability to work as part of an extended team to identify, repair, and report on all isolated equipment failures.
