The Account Director ensures all aspects of the day-to-day VML health/client interaction delivers ultimate value to both parties. In this role, they collaborate with senior clients to understand their business landscape, develop strategies to meet key objectives, and activate the agency team to deliver upon them. The Account Director also mines new, organic business opportunities with existing clients through building relationships with industry partners and the client’s organization. The Account Director works with the cross-functional team, guiding and directing teams to foster a culture of growth and development. In this role, you are responsible for all areas of client delivery, VML CE Health team, and client relationship in Pharma.
What you’ll do:
- Develop long-term account success and growth by building, maintaining, and growing senior level client relationships
- Work with strategy to transform knowledge of client business objectives, internal and competitive opportunities, and customer insights into actionable marketing communications strategies and tactics
- Be the resident expert on the clients’ business and industry
- Contribute to agency new business efforts
- Regularly inform group account director, client engagement on business status, including escalation as needed
- Financial responsibilities include review and sign-off of monthly billing and forecasting, client management or escalation of billing as needed
- Responsible for active professional development of direct reports
- Cultivate capability of both the cross-functional client team and CE department
- Ability to lead integration efforts across multi-channel engagements
What you’ll need:
- Strong presentation development skills
- Comfortable working in and leading integrated agency relationships
- Detail-oriented with strong communication and presentation skills
- 8+ years of relevant client or agency experience (digital marketing and/or managing the design and development of websites)
- Previous experience working with a pharmaceutical or health client
- Thorough knowledge of health communications and possess ability to navigate associated processes
- Experience with marketing (traditional and/or digital) focusing on multi-channel campaign development and strategy
- Familiarity with all facets of interactive campaign and macro strategy development

The base salary range for this position at the time of this posting is indicated below. Individual compensation varies based on job-related factors, including location, business needs, level of responsibility, experience, and qualifications.
