Requirements
  • Possess, at minimum, a 10th-grade education.
  • Be a licensed Certified Nursing Assistant in accordance with state laws.
  • Be able to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Be able to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Be able to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and employees.

Responsibilities
  • Provide assigned residents with routine daily nursing care and services in accordance with their assessments, care plans, and supervisor direction.
  • Identify residents before administering treatments or serving meals.
  • Use only facility-authorized abbreviations when recording information.
  • Report changes in residents’ conditions to the Nurse Supervisor or Charge Nurse promptly.
  • Record entries on flow sheets, notes, charts, and other records in an informative and descriptive manner.
  • Report all accidents and incidents during the shift on which they occur.
  • Maintain resident confidentiality and protected health information, and report suspected or known unauthorized disclosures.
  • Report suspected or known unauthorized attempts to access the facility’s information system.
  • Perform only nursing care procedures for which training has been completed.
  • Prepare residents’ rooms for admission, including making beds, displaying name tags, and providing admission kits.
  • Greet residents and escort them to their rooms.
  • Introduce residents to roommates, other residents, and personnel as appropriate.
  • Make residents comfortable.
  • Inventory and mark residents’ personal possessions as instructed.
  • Store residents’ clothing.
  • Assist residents with packing possessions during room transfers or discharge.
  • Transport residents to new rooms or receiving areas.
  • Assist with loading and unloading residents from vehicles as necessary.
  • Maintain a warm, calm, and positive environment throughout the unit and shift.
  • Meet regularly with nursing personnel to help identify and correct problem areas and improve services.
  • Report resident complaints and grievances.
  • Participate in and receive nursing reports as instructed.
  • Follow established policies for exposure to blood and body fluids.
  • Make beds and add extra covers as requested.
  • Measure and record residents’ temperatures, pulses, and respirations; weigh and measure residents as instructed.
  • Frequently check residents who cannot call for help.
  • Answer resident calls promptly.
  • Routinely check residents to ensure personal care needs are met.
  • Assist residents with identifying food arrangements and tray contents.
  • Record residents’ food and fluid intake and report changes in eating habits.
  • Keep residents’ water pitchers clean, filled with fresh water each shift, and within reach.
  • Perform after-meal care, including removing trays and cleaning residents’ hands, faces, and clothing.
  • Complete assigned tasks according to facility policies, procedures, work assignments, schedules, and supervisor instructions.
  • Cooperate with interdepartmental and facility personnel to maintain nursing services.
  • Notify the facility when late or absent.
  • Report occupational exposures to blood, body fluids, infectious materials, and hazardous chemicals according to facility policies.
  • Assist residents with dental and mouth care, bathing, hair care, dressing, and undressing.
  • Keep residents dry by changing gowns, clothing, and linens when wet or soiled.
  • Assist residents in preparing for medical tests, including laboratory work, X-rays, therapy, and dental examinations.
  • Assist with lifting, turning, moving, positioning, and transporting residents using beds, chairs, bathtubs, wheelchairs, and lifts.
  • Perform restorative and rehabilitative procedures as instructed.
  • Prepare residents for physical examinations.
  • Observe and report pressure areas, skin breakdown, and potential bedsores.
  • Report injuries from unknown sources, including skin tears.
  • Observe disoriented and comatose residents and record and report data as instructed.
  • Perform special treatments as instructed.
  • Immediately notify the Nurse Supervisor or Charge Nurse when a resident leaves or is missing from the facility.
  • Use only equipment for which training has been completed and report defective equipment.
  • Report allegations of resident abuse or misappropriation of resident property.
  • Honor resident refusals of treatment and report such requests to a supervisor.

PACS Group acquires Alaska care facility, plans 150-bed skilled nursing centre by 2028

PACS Group has acquired Ridgeway Senior Living, a post-acute care facility in Anchorage, Alaska, marking its fourth property in the state. PACS Group appoints Carey Hendrickson as chief financial officer

PACS Group has appointed Carey P. Hendrickson as chief financial officer, effective 27 April 2026. Hendrickson brings nearly four decades of financial leadership across healthcare, senior living and media sectors. Most recently, Hendrickson served as CFO of U.S. Physical Therapy, overseeing 779 outpatient clinics across 44 states. He previously held CFO roles at Capital Senior Living Corporation, managing 128 communities across 23 states, and Belo Corp. He succeeds Mark Hancock, PACS's co-founder and executive vice chairman, who will retire by 30 June 2026 whilst remaining on the board as vice chairman. PACS Group has announced that co-founder and chief financial officer Mark Hancock will retire on 30 June 2026. He will continue serving on the company's board of directors as vice chairman. Hancock co-founded PACS in 2013 with Jason Murray, starting with two post-acute care facilities in San Diego. Under his leadership, the company expanded to 323 facilities across 17 states, serving over 31,700 patients daily and generating $5.29 billion in revenue in 2025, representing 29.3% year-on-year growth. PACS Group, a leading post-acute healthcare platform, has appointed Dr Patrick Conway to its board of directors. Dr Conway currently serves as CEO of Optum, UnitedHealth Group's health services division with revenues exceeding $200 billion.
