Requirements
  • Knowledge of current educational methods and strategies, including learner-centered instruction, assessment, evaluation and collaborative techniques and strategies that address closing the gap in student access and achievement across race, gender and disability.
  • Knowledge of traditional and digital presentation and manipulation of graphic elements necessary for the acquisition of skills in Animation Concept Development.
  • Skill in the use of educational technology and alternative delivery methods.
  • Knowledge and ability to infuse multicultural perspectives into course content and delivery.
  • Skill in communications and human relations with populations having diverse socio-economic and racial backgrounds.
  • Skill in oral and written communications.
  • Ability to interact with business and industry to establish partnerships.
  • Bachelor's degree in Animation or a related field.
  • Seven (7) years or 14,000 hours of related work experience.
  • OR Associate's degree in Animation or a related field.
  • Eight (8) years or 16,000 hours of related work experience.
  • Five (5) credited shipped titles (game or film)
Responsibilities
  • Responsible for instruction in the Animation Program including but not limited to the following courses: Drawing Fundamentals, Design and Color 1, Intro to Animation, Intro to Digital 3D, Animation 2, Advanced Digital 3D, Animation Concepts 1, Level and Set Design, Animation 3, Advanced Animation Studio 1, Animation Concepts 2, Animation 4, Animation Internship, Animation Portfolio and Advanced Animation Studio 2.
  • Plan, develop and implement appropriate instructional and alternative delivery strategies, including but not limited to, Interactive Television and on-line course delivery.
  • Instruct students in classes and participate in college service activities as assigned by the immediate supervisor.
  • Assist and advise students who have problems with assignments, tests, grades, course content, career concerns, and other academic matters.
  • Evaluate student performance in courses taught by the instructor.
  • Actively work with other personnel in student recruitment, retention and job placement.
  • Develop and maintain curriculum in collaboration with department/division staff.
  • Participate in instructional and curriculum articulation activities with other programs and other divisions of instruction.
  • Comply with college policies and directions regarding student testing, record keeping, advanced standing, providing grades on a timely basis, maintaining office hours for student assistance and counseling, etc.
  • Assist students in developing work experience assignments such as internships, work study assignments, team projects, etc.
  • Maintain certification as an instructor with the Wisconsin Technical College System. Comply with all aspects of Board policies, work rules, and the appropriate collective bargaining agreement.
