Requirements
  • High School Diploma/GED and 1-3 years of field experience in gas treatment, compressor stations, petrochemicals, LNG operation, power plant or power systems related experience
  • Able to perform as a mechanic for the installation, repair and troubleshooting of various mechanical and electrical equipment
  • Possess troubleshooting knowledge of electrical control systems
  • Ability to perform basic maintenance of plant equipment such as painting, oil changes, re-build of sealing fittings
  • Has working knowledge of the EH&S requirements associated with the above
  • Ability to earn FDNY Certificate of Fitness requisite for operating the LNG plant and Hunts Point compressor station
  • Commitment to advance to LNG Plant Operator and Sr. LNG Plant Operator titles
  • Ability to pass and maintain CFATS background checks
  • Ability to observe & record data from various instruments & computers and compare to expected norms as part of advancing to LNG Plant Operator
  • Recognizes and reacts to abnormal conditions associated with duties
  • Ability to read and understand process and instrument diagrams as well as mechanical and electrical drawings
  • Able and willing to work a 12-hour rotating shift and rotating days off
  • Candidates must obtain an FDNY Certificate of Fitness within one year of their hire date and Operator Qualifications within three years

Responsibilities
  • Perform duties of operating mechanic for the installation, repair, and troubleshooting of various mechanical and electrical equipment
  • Perform necessary testing, repairs, and preventive maintenance on electrical and electronic control systems, as well as pneumatic instrumentation, while ensuring safe and efficient plant operations
  • Ability to use electrical and electronic test equipment
  • Responsible for conducting corrective maintenance troubleshooting and repairs, as well as performing preventive maintenance inspections using appropriate tools and portable test equipment
  • Ensure the safe and efficient operation of the LNG Plant and Hunts Point Compressor Station by operating manual valves, conducting inspections, adjusting equipment, preparing for maintenance, and assisting support teams
  • Monitor unit functions during normal operations and perform periodic checks of all operating variables
  • Operate and perform routine inspections on station equipment
  • Troubleshoot and identify abnormal process deviations related to physical changes, anomalies in field equipment, process parameters, or potential safety concerns, ensuring timely communication to the Shift Supervisor
  • Update Field Supervisor on plant issues; maintain detailed shift logs and communicate with incoming/outgoing Operators
  • Competent in starting, stopping, troubleshooting, and isolating equipment. Understand essential processes and routine tasks of the LNG plant and Hunts Point Compressor station
  • Follow EH&S requirements associated with the above activities
  • Perform safety tours and inspections
  • Obtain FDNY Certificate of Fitness requisite for operating the LNG plant and Hunts Point compressor station
  • Obtain Operator Qualifications required to operate and maintain Hunts Point compressor station
  • Perform outdoor tasks in all types of inclement weather, including extreme cold, as the LNG plant serves as a vital source of natural gas during exceptionally cold days
  • Remain clean-shaven, fit-tested and medically approved to wear a respirator, including SCBA
  • Will be subject to initial psychological screening and annual physicals in accordance with Federal Code
  • Observe and record data from various instruments and computers, comparing findings to expected norms as part of advancing to the LNG Plant Operator role
  • Travel to and attend hands on Fire School outside of NYC
  • Travel to locations within the company's service territory

(Con Edison) (NYSE: ED) today reported 2024 net income for common stock of $1,820 million or $5.26 a share compared with $2,519 million or $7.25 a share in 2023.
