Requirements
  • Three to five years of prior experience as an engineer or project engineer in the construction industry, including experience with healthcare, corporate office, life science or technology, or education construction projects.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong knowledge of basic construction materials and methods.
  • A good understanding of the technical and business aspects of construction project management.
  • A solid understanding of the building permit approval process.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Suite, Timberline Estimating, Vista Project Management, Procore, Primavera, On-Screen Takeoff, and Bluebeam.
  • OSHA 10 Certification.
Responsibilities
  • Contribute as part of a team in formal presentations for new projects.
  • Lead or assist with instructions to bidders and assemble bid packages; perform takeoffs and estimate aspects of new projects.
  • Perform outreach to trade partners to promote project opportunities and increase bid coverage.
  • Assist in assembling the Control Estimate and setting up projects in Vista.
  • Execute aspects of the subcontractor buyout and selection process.
  • Perform project management responsibilities on smaller projects or portions of larger projects, including writing and administering subcontracts and exhibits, preparing cost forecasts, leading meetings and job walks, helping produce monthly billings, and coordinating quality control.
  • Manage the project procurement process with limited oversight and resolve procurement challenges based on the project schedule.
  • Participate in and occasionally lead OAC meetings and prepare timely and accurate meeting minutes.
  • Estimate change orders; review and validate pricing for PCCs and EWAs; evaluate subcontractor change orders; and present change orders to the client.
  • Lead document control by distributing plans, specifications, drawings, permits, and related materials and maintaining the drawing revision log.
  • Evaluate, prepare, and distribute RFIs; gather, prepare, review, and distribute submittals; maintain accurate process logs and records; and escalate critical pending items.
  • Monitor, measure, inspect, and report on work completed in the field and perform quality-control activities for installed materials or systems.
  • Assist with resolving challenges in the field.
  • Manage and perform project schedule updates with the Superintendent.
  • Proactively manage the punch-list and close-out process, including warranty, operations and maintenance, Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, and as-built documentation.
  • Maintain contact with the client, owner's representative, design team, subcontractors, and other project stakeholders and develop positive project-team relationships.
  • Assist with mentoring, training, and developing other project staff members.
  • Promote professionalism and ethics and demonstrate the company's values and core competencies.
  • Ensure that the company's safety policies and procedures are known, implemented, and practiced.
