Requirements
  • A medical or paramedical degree is required.
  • At least four years of experience in a similar position or in the humanitarian sector is required.
  • Experience in public health and community health is required.
  • Experience managing epidemics and emergency interventions is required.
  • Experience negotiating with authorities and local partners in unstable contexts is required.
  • Ability to adapt and withstand stress in complex security environments is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required.
  • Fluent written and spoken French and English are required.
Responsibilities
  • Conduct qualitative health assessments linked to humanitarian needs during exploratory missions.
  • Develop program responses and strategy.
  • Contribute to developing and implementing emergency preparedness and response plans.
  • Draft project proposals and contribute to preparing donor budgets.
  • Coordinate implementation of emergency health programs.
  • Supervise procurement, stock management, and distribution of pharmaceutical products.
  • Identify health personnel needs for emergency programs and ensure rapid recruitment, onboarding, and training of new staff.
  • Contribute to drafting reports for donors.
  • Monitor and analyze results to improve program effectiveness and quality.
  • Ensure that Médecins du Monde policies and procedures are followed by the team and program activities.
  • Represent the organization and coordinate with other agencies, local government, donors, and other stakeholders.
  • Provide emergency preparedness and response support to Médecins du Monde program teams in country offices.
  • Contribute to developing tools and protocols for emergency operations.
  • Participate actively in preparedness and team capacity-building initiatives.
  • Contribute to developing the overall strategic approach to emergency health interventions.
  • Use acquired experience and develop lessons learned.
  • Maintain active humanitarian monitoring.
Desired Qualifications
  • A Master’s degree in public health is an asset.
  • Experience supervising sexual and reproductive health and nutrition programs is desirable based on the stated candidate profile.
