Solventum is seeking Tool & Die Machinist candidates to join our team in Columbia, MO!

• Shift: 2nd Shift (Monday – Friday; 3:30pm – 11:30pm)

The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As a Tool & Die Machinist, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

• Operating CNC machines and other common machine tools & equipment; including lathes, mills, surface grinders and/or basic RAM and wire EDM operation.

• Assisting in designing, constructing, machining, assembling, modifying, adjusting and troubleshooting dies, fixtures, mechanical equipment, and developmental devices to specific tolerances and specifications.
• Knowing, applying and evaluating operating principles and mechanical functions used in precision fabrication and building of tools such as punches, dies, jigs, and fixtures.
• Interpreting tooling/mechanical related prints and mechanical drawings, with GD&T understanding.
• Working closely with peers and other coworkers to maximize productivity of production equipment and developing and improving tooling and processes to reduce costs and increase efficiencies.

Your Skills and Expertise 

To set you up for success in this role from day one, Solventum requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

• Possess a technical degree or higher in Tool & Die Technology

OR

• Possess a high school diploma/GED AND a minimum of five (5) years of experience working in a Tool and Die or Machinist field

AND

In addition to the above requirements, the following are also required:

• Experience operating CNC machines
• Experience with interpreting tooling/mechanical related prints and mechanical drawings
• Ability to work overtime, weekends, or holidays as needed
• Ability to work 2nd Shift (Monday – Friday; 3:30pm – 11:30pm)

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

• Willingness to pursue necessary education and training requirements to keep current with the technological requirements of the assignment
• Basic computer skills
