Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is required.
  • At least 5 years of experience in federal Human Resources classification or a similar role is required.
  • In-depth knowledge of Office of Personnel Management classification standards and Human Resources policies is required.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills are required.
  • Proficiency with Human Resources Information Systems and automated position description libraries is required.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications is required.
  • Effective communication and customer service skills are required.
  • The applicant must be a United States citizen and able to obtain the required security clearance for the position.
  • The role requires sufficient mobility for bending, reaching, and kneeling, and may require typing and reading from a computer screen.
  • The role may require walking moderate to long distances and lifting up to 40 pounds.
Responsibilities
  • Provide independent classification and position management support.
  • Conduct position evaluations and recommend series, grade, and title determinations.
  • Review classification standards, functional statements, and organizational charts.
  • Conduct job analyses and organizational program audits.
  • Prepare classification justifications and evaluation statements.
  • Advise managers on classification changes and workforce alignment.
  • Review and analyze position descriptions for accuracy and compliance with Office of Personnel Management standards.
  • Ensure Human Resources actions are processed accurately using automated systems and proper coding.
  • Enter and retrieve data from Human Resources systems.
  • Prepare standard reports and reconcile records.
  • Maintain subject matter files and agency guidance documentation.
  • Provide technical support and advisory services in position classification, recruitment, and Human Resources program administration.
  • Apply established Human Resources principles to resolve moderately complex issues and assist managers and employees with classification and staffing needs.
  • Ensure compliance with federal Human Resources policies and procedures.
Desired Qualifications
  • A Master's degree is preferred.
