Requirements
  • Previous work experience with industrial services or technical sales, with a documentable track record of successes and accomplishments.
  • Strong project management and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written, listening, and presentation skills.
  • A current valid driver’s license must be maintained because driving is an essential function.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience working with Salesforce.com or a similar customer relationship management system.
  • A high aptitude for mechanical processes and equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to calculate discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and interpret written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule-based instructions.
  • Ability to stand, walk, use hands, reach, talk, hear, and sit; frequently lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to work around moving mechanical parts and equipment and occasional exposure to fumes, airborne particles, weather conditions, vibration, wet or humid conditions, toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme temperatures, electrical shock risk, and loud noise.
Responsibilities
  • Identify profitable sales-growth opportunities with new and existing customers within an assigned territory and develop and execute account plans.
  • Pursue the application, distribution, and satisfaction of customer needs for material handling equipment and service programs.
  • Partner with customers to understand their businesses and serve as a trusted advisor.
  • Develop and deliver product demonstrations and sales presentations explaining the value, timing, and proposed solutions.
  • Suggest improvements that support risk mitigation, cost savings, profitable revenue growth, or other customer goals.
  • Understand and report significant market trends and competitive intelligence.
  • Provide clear and accurate responses for requests for proposals and contribute technical solutions to proposals.
  • Identify customer business opportunities by analyzing equipment cost-benefit ratios and engineering or proposing changes to equipment, processes, or services.
  • Develop and calculate financing solutions for varied customer needs.
  • Understand customers’ business issues, including inventory, asset management, return on investment, and financial statement analysis.
  • Maintain and document customer interactions in a customer relationship management and quoting system from the first meeting through deal closure and follow-up activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
