MetTel has launched Connected Laptop as a Service, offering enterprise-grade laptop management with multi-carrier connectivity via its SingleSIM technology. The service provides uninterrupted connectivity across any carrier, device or location globally from initial deployment. The offering addresses IT resource constraints, as administrators reportedly spend nearly 100 business days managing every 1,000 devices. MetTel handles the entire lifecycle from device ordering through its customer portal to direct shipment to end users, including MDM provisioning and security configurations. SingleSIM provides always-on secure connectivity, eliminating reliance on unsecured public WiFi networks. MetTel distributes devices from its warehouses, where they are staged and configured to enterprise specifications before deployment. MetTel has been recognised as a Leader in Gartner's Magic Quadrant for Managed Network Services for five consecutive years.
MetTel, a digital transformation and communications leader, has announced a new POTS Transformation solution integrating DataRemote's 90X1 POTS IN A BOX technology with its managed network services. The solution provides businesses with a certified alternative to legacy copper lines for critical voice and data services. Key features include UL-864 compliance for alarm equipment, 5G connectivity with 4G fallback on multicarrier cellular radio, and patented power output maintaining third-party devices during power loss. The system offers up to 48 hours of battery backup and nationwide coverage with multicarrier certification and Starlink compatibility. With an estimated 14 to 30 million copper lines remaining in the US, the solution addresses escalating costs and declining service quality as traditional copper networks reach end-of-life. MetTel also offers a lower-cost 4G-only variant for POTS replacement.
