About the Role
As a Senior Architect in the Business Applications team, you will recommend and prioritize technology strategy & architecture at enterprise level, to align with Uber’s B2B business goals.. As part of the Enterprise Architecture team, you will be responsible for accelerating the value of architecture across the GoToMarket Tech stack by embedding architectural mindset and principles into engineering processes and talent. This role will require deep collaboration with various leaders and senior individuals across the company to build consensus and an in-depth understanding of key Deal Management processes and the applications and technologies that support them. This requires the ability to seamlessly blend engagement skills, business understanding, critical thinking, technical mastery, and architectural knowledge to drive to define an BTE roadmap that will scale and mature business capabilities.
This position requires you to be a self-starter with the ability to take ownership, prioritize, and handle various tasks simultaneously. In addition, strong verbal communication and written documentation skills are a must for this role for promoting ideas throughout the business to both technical and non-technical audiences.
What the Candidate Will Do
- Sales Planning & Go-To-Market (GTM) Strategy:
- Organize and support field sales upstream of merchant outreach.
- Establish direct connections between Delivery Commercial Operations (DCO) and Finance to streamline processes and enhance collaboration.
- Develop and maintain sales planning tools and methodologies to optimize sales forecasting and planning.
- Insights and Analytics:
- Consolidate analytical capabilities to provide actionable insights for business decision-making.
- Maintain direct connections to Business Technology Engineering (BTE) to ensure alignment of analytical tools and data sources.
- Develop and implement dashboards and reporting systems to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Sales Compensation:
- Support the design and execution of incentive compensation plans.
- Collaborate with HR and finance teams to ensure accurate and timely compensation processing.
- Develop models and tools to evaluate the effectiveness of compensation plans and recommend improvements.
- Pricing Strategy:
- Ensure that deals meet the financial goals of the commercial team.
- Monitor margins and overall pricing trends to maintain competitive and profitable pricing strategies.
- Collaborate with the sales team to develop pricing models and strategies that align with market conditions and business objectives.
Basic Qualifications
- This position requires you to be a self-starter with the ability to take ownership, prioritize, and handle various tasks simultaneously while maintaining a positive demeanor
- Visible leadership skills and executive presence; demonstrated ability to provide thought leadership, think strategically, and effectively communicate vision and influence across the organization
Preferred Qualifications
- 8+ years managing and delivering experience primarily in GTM space. 5+ years of architecture experience within a high-tech industry.
- Deep understanding of IT systems and infrastructure, including the universe of SaaS business products; with proven experience managing an expansive GTM application portfolio; Xactly Incent, Anaplan, Varisent, etc.
- Must have proven ability to consistently and collaboratively resolve issues, mitigate roadblocks, and meet all financial and management goals on time. Will be a self-starter who maps his/her own direction to succeed.
- Excellent team management, coaching, and mentoring skills
- Demonstrated knowledge of business, technology, application, data, and security architectures
- The ability to assess organizational strengths and weaknesses and make the choices appropriate to the organization is important
- In addition, strong verbal communication and written documentation skills are a must for this role for promoting ideas throughout the business to both technical and non-technical audiences
For Chicago, IL-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$154,000 per year - USD$171,000 per year.
For New York, NY-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$171,000 per year - USD$190,000 per year.
For Sunnyvale, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$171,000 per year - USD$190,000 per year.
