Overview

Job Summary

The Paramedic Apprentice works under the direct supervision of a Paramedic and is responsible for assisting with emergency medical care in the pre-hospital environment. Works under on-line and off-line medical control providing basic life support.  The Paramedic Apprentice may also perform duties in the Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) role, not necessarily under the direct supervision of a Paramedic.

Job Responsibilities

• Supports and assists with the delivery of patient care, under the direction of the Paramedic.
• Assists with the maintenance and cleaning of patient care equipment.
• Performs routine equipment function tests and calibrations.
• Assists with the inventory of supplies and equipment ensuring adequate supply levels.
• Boone Health has determined this is a safety-sensitive position. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in safe manner is an essential function of the job.
• Performs Other Responsibilities as Assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Enrolled in accredited Paramedic program
• Experience:  None-Required
• Supervisor Experience: None-Experience
• Class  E Driver’s License
• EMT License
