Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Business Management, Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Hospital Administration, or a related field and two years of experience in pharmacy or data analytics.
  • Two years of experience working with relational database structures, including design, testing, troubleshooting problems, and/or training.
  • Two years of experience in data analysis and/or a healthcare planning background, preferably in pharmacy.
  • Two years of experience with reporting tools such as Crystal Reports.
  • Experience with Structured Query Language (SQL/Oracle) and/or Business Objects.
  • The position requires an EPIC official designation of “Proficient” within the new-hire probationary period.
  • Ability to handle and maintain confidential information.
  • Ability to work independently or cooperatively as a team member and with multidisciplinary groups.
  • Ability to facilitate meetings, prioritize tasks, and make decisions independently.
  • Ability to read and write legibly in English, type, and demonstrate reading and comprehension ability.
  • Ability to adapt to varying workloads and assignments and work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.
Responsibilities
  • Lead efforts to design, innovate, and implement solutions that improve pharmacy systems and processes.
  • Advocate for customers by understanding pharmacy business needs and identifying improvement and productivity opportunities.
  • Assess analytical needs and determine appropriate courses of action using critical thinking.
  • Manage enterprise relationships and facilitate the development of optimal solutions internally and with appropriate vendors.
  • Use performance improvement, project management, cost accounting, industrial engineering, and technology skills with management and pharmacy staff.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of database structures and business intelligence tools to create analytical solutions for the pharmacy team.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for pharmacy-team data analytics and process improvement.
  • Perform data analysis and create queries, programs, and automation.
  • Use analytical methods to ensure reported data is meaningful and accurate.
  • Use systems and tools such as Tableau, Microsoft Office Suite, and SAP products for data analytics.
  • Evaluate pharmacy analytic tools and practices and work with teams to improve or automate processes.
  • Maintain and utilize a pharmacy database for complex analysis related to drug purchase and utilization.
  • Attend courses in performance improvement, system design, technical training, and statistical analysis.
  • Lead data requirements gathering for problem identification, resolution, and solution design.
  • Provide analytical insights from data to drive strategic business decisions.
  • Coordinate cross-functional projects and identify team needs to ensure timely completion.
  • Review, identify, and document issues, barriers, and risks and bring them to management’s attention.
  • Provide project and task coordination services to pharmacy customers.
  • Manage workload and balance quality with deadlines to fulfill user expectations and project goals.
  • Manage expectations and engage management regarding potential changes to project scope and deliverables.
  • Implement changes according to project change-control policies and procedures.
  • Communicate the nature, significance, and risks of projects to all parties.
  • Participate in post-implementation project reviews.
  • Gather customer requirements, understand business needs, and translate them into actionable solutions.
  • Participate in training and professional development sessions.
  • Provide assistance and support to coworkers and contribute to positive team cohesion.
  • Maintain and test tracking software.
  • Maintain system databases to reflect changes in the drug formulary or product specifications.
  • Ensure appropriate safeguards and system integrity.
  • Work with department management to develop and implement departmental goals and objectives.
  • Participate in planning and implementing change and improving productivity through staff meetings, committees, task forces, and projects.
  • Engage peers and employees in improving work quality.
  • Interact with department management and clinical specialists to provide drug-usage information, identify spending irregularities, and recommend alternative products.
Desired Qualifications
  • A master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Business Management, Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or Hospital Administration.
  • Two years of pharmacy experience.
  • Familiarity with supported applications and experience with Structured Query Language (SQL/Oracle) and/or business intelligence tools.
  • Four years of data analytics experience.
