Requirements
  • A Ph.D. or equivalent degree in related engineering and science disciplines is required.
  • Progressively responsible experience demonstrating the ability to plan, execute, and manage research activities is required.
  • Knowledge of simulation tools such as multiphysics finite element analysis, MATLAB, and LabVIEW is required.
  • Cleanroom experience and experience characterizing electronic devices are required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal, documentation, time-management, and organizational skills are required.
Responsibilities
  • Work on multidisciplinary research projects in the Bendable Electronics and Sustainable Technologies Group.
  • Contribute to the formulation and submission of research publications and research proposals.
  • Help manage complex and challenging projects in the group.
  • Interact regularly with an interdisciplinary team.
  • Supervise the research activities of graduate students in the group.
Desired Qualifications
  • A strong foundation in at least a few of the following areas: high-mobility materials-based printed electronics, transient electronics, degradable materials, micro/nanofabrication, nanowire synthesis, technologies for printed electronics, tactile sensing and haptics, electronic skin, and applications in robotics and wearable systems.
  • Knowledge of system-level integration and haptics feedback in real and virtual agents.
  • Experience preparing proposals for sponsored research funding and managing projects.
  • Mentoring and supervising experience.
