Angular Engineer

The Opportunity

We’re looking for an Angular Engineer to join our Tech & Product team in Madrid. You’ll help design and build scalable, high-performance solutions that form the backbone of our products, contributing to systems used by teams across the company.

In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with experienced engineers, contribute to architectural discussions, and continuously improve our codebase. We value clean architecture, reliable automation, and thoughtful engineering over rushing features and you’ll be encouraged to learn, experiment, and share ideas.

Responsibilities

• You will be responsible for developing product features and actively participating in requirements analysis, design, coding, testing, as well as post-deployment monitoring and bug fixing.
• Responsible for the web app code quality and structure, ensuring PRs are of standard.
• Assist in coordinating workflows with UX and designers.
• Coordinate with backend .PHP and .Net engineers on API design.
• Take ownership of problems, propose scalable solutions, and anticipate potential pitfalls before they arise.
• Think beyond just writing code - consider scalability, security, performance, and maintainability.
• Collaborate within an Agile environment, contributing to the continuous improvement of ESW's suite of ecommerce products as a valued member of a product team.
• Take on ambitious tasks involving large-scale sophisticated applications and embrace Test Driven Development methodologies.

Requirements

• 3+ years commercial experience in Software Development.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer science or equivalent.
• Strong expertise in UI development with Angular and Express/AngularSSR.
• Excellent knowledge of JS, TS, HTML, CSS, NPM.
• Experience with Node.js, Redis, and AWS Cloudfront is a nice to have.
• Experience in technical and design aspects of adaptable web apps.
• Knowledge of development stack: Web Api, Restful architecture, Microservices.
• Experience in modern SDLC methodology, such as CI/CD, Unit test and end to end test experience.
• Experience working within an Agile team.
• Demonstrated ability to self-teach / up-skill.
• Intellectual curiosity, learning agility, and enthusiasm for tackling tough problems.
• Outstanding communication skills required – primarily the ability to communicate ideas.
