Senior Copywriter

Role: Senior Copywriter 
Location: Chicago, IL – Hybrid (3 days/week in office)

As a Senior Copywriter, you will work across four brands in Chicago to help make tastytrade the #1 online retail brokerage in the US. The brands include tastytrade, tastylive, tastyfx, and tastycrypto. 

As part of the marketing team, you will create and evolve the copy across brand, performance marketing, and engagement campaigns. This creative role combines strategic thinking, collaboration, UX, and trading know-how to create memorable and magical copy that generates interest and action. This individual should have a trading background or a genuine passion for the markets.

What You’ll Do:

• Craft compelling copy that drives measurable conversions across display, social, video, and search campaigns
• Transform complex trading concepts into clear, persuasive messaging that motivates action
• Develop data-driven creative ideas that increase click-through rates and customer acquisition
• Write high-converting landing page copy that guides prospects through the trading journey
• Craft compelling website copy that speaks to our target market and showcases how we meet their needs
• Develop A/B copy testing and optimize assets based on data
• Help communicate brand strategy and creative strategy for campaigns 
• Serve as brand steward and creative consultant to otherwise autonomous teams 
• Navigate compliance reviews and maintain version control 
• Develop deep understanding of traders
• Use conversion psychology and persuasion principles 
• Collaborate with creative director, marketing strategists, performance marketing, designers, compliance, product, and business leaders from kickoff through delivery 
• Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in advertising, copywriting, and performance media channels

Who You Are:

• Bachelor's degree in marketing, advertising, creative writing, English, business, or other related area
• 10+ years of experience as a performance marketing copywriter
• Financial services and direct-to-consumer (DTC) experience is required
• Personal or business experience in trading or investing is strongly preferred
• Excellent grammatical skills and a strong attention to detail
• You have a strong ability to translate technical financial jargon into simple prose that everyone can understand
• Portfolio showcasing a range of creative and effective advertising campaigns, backed with data
• Expert storyteller who can create personality and emotion in copy
• You have creative flexibility—adjust your language and tone based on your audience and brand
• Strong understanding of performance-based marketing and brand strategies and tactics  
• You can work collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

Salary Range: $90,000 - $105,000
This is an estimated range. The actual salary offered will be based on the candidate's level of experience and qualifications.
