About the Role

The focus of the Consumer Pricing team is to ensure the best merchant selection for consumers, innovate on pricing models for consumers to shape demand and maximize marketplace throughput. The initiatives led by this group are fundamental to the success of Uber’s Delivery business by driving growth and profitability.

We are actively seeking individuals who excel in problem solving and critical thinking, are proficient in coding with proven track record of learning and growth, and prior experience in highly scalable distributed systems.

What the Candidate Will Do ----

• Strategic individual contributor to help coordinate the overall technical direction
• Design, architect, and scale features and platform to improve demand shaping
• Deliver ambiguous technical projects within the consumer pricing domain
• Build and maintain collaborative relationships with multiple stakeholders (e.g. external third parties, designers, PMs) to accomplish work

---- Basic Qualifications ----

• 5+ years of experience delivering, scaling, and owning highly successful and innovative software products with your fingerprints all over them - you’re extremely proud of what you’ve accomplished.
• Bachelor of Science (BS) in Computer Science, Physics, or Mathematics, or related field
• You have a proven record of engineering and coding skills. Ability to write high-performance production quality code. Experience in Java, Go, Python and other equivalent languages is a plus.
• Experience in systems software engineering. Sound understanding of computer architecture and CS fundamentals.

• Previously worked in pricing domain and basic knowledge of machine learning or Optimization
• You have experience building distributed systems at scale

For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$185,000 per year - USD$205,500 per year.

For Sunnyvale, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$185,000 per year - USD$205,500 per year.
