  • Bachelor of Science or Master of Science (preferred) in Electrical Engineering
  • Top Secret Security Clearance preferred, eligible ok. Secret required.
  • Experience with analog and digital circuit design
  • Experience with PCB design, layout, fabrication, documentation, and testing
  • Preference for experience with Altium Designer
  • Knowledge of PCB fabrication and assembly techniques
  • Experience using circuit test tools such as oscilloscopes, signal analyzers, multimeters, signal generators, etc.
  • Experience with low-power microcontrollers using C/C++ language programming
  • Experience with Programmable Logic (CPLD & FPGA), preference for VHLD language
  • Experience working in teams to develop solutions, deliver products, and test and evaluate performance
  • Experience and skill analyzing experiment data to determine results as feedback into the development cycle
  • Strong technical writing skills to provide input to technical reports and briefing material
Responsibilities
  • Work with a small team of engineers and technicians in development, test, and delivery of electronics based on system requirements
  • Design, implementation and integration of electrical hardware or sensors onto systems for deployment at-sea
  • Conduct development and testing primarily in San Diego, with occasional travel in support of testing and/or operations in other locations both in the U.S. and abroad
  • Spend multiple days at-sea onboard ships as required
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with custom circuit card design, integration and testing, including troubleshooting and rework
  • Self-starter who can identify problems and work independently to generate alternate solutions
  • Ability to take a system-of-systems approach to understand requirements and produce reliable, robust designs
  • Experience with at-sea test and evaluation (T&E) to include operations onboard small craft and large ships at sea is desired
  • Willingness to conduct such testing is required
