Bank of America to invest $1.9B for 49.9% stake in Jio Financial Services' NBFC

Bank of America is investing $1.9 billion for a 49.9% stake in Jio Financial Services, marking a significant development in India's financial services sector. The investment will support expansion of Jio's non-banking financial company, which is part of the Reliance Industries conglomerate. The partnership aims to develop new financial products and services, leveraging Jio's extensive customer base and technological infrastructure. This aligns with the trend of traditional banks investing in fintech to enhance competitiveness. The deal is expected to intensify competition in India's NBFC space, particularly in consumer lending and digital payments. However, Jio Financial Services will need to navigate increasing regulatory scrutiny as it scales operations. The investment may encourage other global financial institutions to explore similar partnerships in India's growing financial sector.

Bank of America sets $367 target on Tower Semiconductor stock after silicon photonics revenue triples

Bank of America initiated coverage of Tower Semiconductor with a Buy rating and a $367 price target, seeing significant upside despite shares tripling over the past year. The Israel-based specialty foundry recently posted its best quarter ever. Analyst Oliver Wong set the target at 20 times projected 2028 enterprise value to EBITDA, with earnings estimates 13% and 28% above consensus for 2027 and 2028 respectively. BofA believes the market undervalues Tower's leadership in silicon photonics chips, used in transceivers that carry data across AI data centres. The firm expects Tower's silicon photonics revenue to double in 2026. The segment grew over 270% year-over-year in Q2 2026, reaching an annualised run rate above $680 million.
