Requirements
  • Candidate must be a graduate of an approved school of radiologic technology and a registered technologist with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT).
  • One of ARRT, ARDMS, or ARMRT certificate required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
  • License from New Jersey Bureau of Radiological Health required.
  • Must be certified in the service to which the candidate is applying for Mammography.
  • English language communication skills, both oral and written, required.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills required.
  • Experience in radiology information systems (RIS) and Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS) is required.
  • 1-2 years of experience as a Mammography technologist is required; 2-4 years preferred.
  • Prior experience in all aspects of Mammography procedures and Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA) requirements.
  • Must be able to communicate, and have basic math skills.
Responsibilities
  • Maintain appropriate staffing levels and schedules at your respective sites on work-to-work basis, coordinating with the chief technician to approve paid time off.
  • Direct the daily operations of radiology functions in the designated modality and location.
  • Provide leadership, training and support for the department.
  • Serve as a consistent resource and consultant to staff and assist in interpreting policies and procedures for staff.
  • Work effectively with the team to ensure a positive work environment.
  • Demonstrate courteous behavior through polite and respectful communication with all coworkers and guests.
  • Manage technical staff to provide adequate department coverage within the approved monthly budget per modality.
  • Maintain equipment service records and arrange for equipment service and preventive maintenance with QA/QC technicians.
  • Assist Supervisor/Chief technologist in evaluating technical staff annually.
  • Be accountable for managing delivery of care and patient safety.
  • Obtain and document patient history and pertinent information; assess patients for potential risk factors.
  • Ensure proper identification of patient and demographics in PACS.
  • Clarify and follow Doctor’s orders and scans needed information in PACS.
  • Ensure that all exams are completed and in verified status in RIS and PACS.
  • Complete work within an acceptable time frame.
  • Produce quality diagnostic images for interpretation, including positioning and technique.
  • Evaluate images for technical quality and ensure proper identification is recorded.
  • Maintain cleanliness of exam rooms and adhere to infection control standards specific to patient care.
  • Prioritize and organize work assignments and adjust priorities based on changing situations.
  • Maintain order and cleanliness in the technological work area.
  • Consult and communicate with other departments in a professional manner.
  • Demonstrate understanding of safety, health and moral needs of customers and co-workers.
  • Plan for delivery of care according to patient activity and staff competencies.
  • Be familiar with the location of emergency equipment and medications to assist in treatment of contrast reactions and other emergencies.
  • Prepare patients for procedures by providing instructions to obtain desired results and minimize anxiety.
  • Operate imaging systems and equipment properly, safely and efficiently.
  • Demonstrate awareness of Radiation Safety procedures for self and others.
  • Ensure that the technical staff have the supplies necessary for adequate patient care; replenish or order and change supplies as needed.
  • Ensure equipment is in acceptable condition by conducting routine quality control checks and report equipment malfunctions or problems to the appropriate department.
  • Assist Radiologist in performing procedures and prepare and assist in administration of contrast materials (IV and oral for respective modalities).
  • Cancel and reschedule patient appointments as needed.
  • Verify exams in the PACS system.

Walgreens Boots Alliance-backed healthcare clinic chain VillageMD is reportedly working with advisers to explore a sale, restructuring or other options. This move comes after Walgreens CEO Tim Wentworth said during a January earnings call that the company plans to divest VillageMD, Bloomberg reported Wednesday (Feb. 12). A Walgreens spokesperson told Bloomberg that Walgreens “is continuing to work toward executing its stated goal of securing an endpoint for its investment in VillageMD, consistent with Walgreens’ turnaround strategy.”

Walgreens Boots AllianceTim Barry is leaving as chief executive officer of VillageMD, the clinic operator that has cost its majority owner, Walgreens Boots Alliance, billions of dollars in losses.VillageMD confirmed Wednesday afternoon in a statement that Barry “has stepped down as CEO and Board Chair.” Barry founded VillageMD in 2013, but the Chicago-based company has since struggled to fill its clinics attached to Walgreens with patients and has scaled back dramatically on the expansion of doctor practices it manages and Village Medical clinics the company opened attached to Walgreens.“The Board has appointed VillageMD Chief Operations Officer Jim Murray to serve as Interim Chief Executive Officer,” VillageMD said in its brief statement. “Effective immediately, Murray assumes day-to-day leadership responsibilities to ensure a smooth transition and continuity of care.
