Requirements
  • 2+ years of experience with lakehouse architecture and federated governance protocols.
  • Experience with data management tools and platforms such as Atlan, Hex, Unity Catalog.
  • 5+ years of experience in data governance, metadata extraction, data quality management, or metadata management roles.
  • Strong understanding of data governance frameworks, principles, and best practices.
  • Previous experience with data privacy regulations such as GDPR, CCPA, and GLBA.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to engage with stakeholders across different levels of the organization.
Responsibilities
  • Leading a governance committee with members from the entire organization to design best practices, implement policies, standards, and procedures for effective data lifecycle and management practices.
  • Establishing trust and relationships with stakeholders while defining data governance requirements aligned with business goals.
  • Creating data quality standards and metrics to monitor data accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
  • Developing and maintaining a centralized metadata catalog to document data assets, schemas, and lineage.
  • Defining data access policies and classifying assets based on sensitivity, confidentiality, and regulatory requirements to ensure compliance with privacy regulations such as GDPR, CCPA, and GLBA.
  • Implementing data security, encryption, and access controls to protect sensitive data from unauthorized access or disclosure.
  • Monitoring data access logs and audit trails to detect unauthorized access or usage of data.
