Tellius is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead the design and development of cutting-edge software solutions that integrate with our advanced analytics platform. This position requires an experienced and strategic thinker with a strong engineering background who is passionate about creating scalable and robust software architectures. The ideal candidate should have a track record of leading complex projects, mentoring development teams, and driving innovation to enhance user interactions and system performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high-performance backend services and applications in Scala, Java, or Python, ensuring reliability and scalability.  
• Leverage frameworks like Spark and Phoenix which are core components of the platform. 
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to architect and implement features that capitalize on AI integrations, including LangChain and LangGraph-based functionalities.  
• Collaborate with executive leadership and cross-functional teams to define software strategies and ensure alignment with business objectives and user needs.
• Participate in planning and design discussions, providing technical leadership and guidance on best practices, particularly in the areas of performance tuning and system architecture.  
• Diagnose and resolve intricate technical challenges, fostering a proactive approach to problem-solving across engineering teams.
• Contribute to code reviews, technical documentation, and knowledge-sharing sessions to foster a culture of learning and continuous improvement.  
• Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices, and apply this knowledge to improve and evolve Tellius’s tech stack.  

Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years of product development experience in a product organization, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality software.  
• Proficiency in at least one of the following languages: Scala, Java, or Python, with the flexibility to learn additional languages as required.  
• Experience with data processing and distributed computing frameworks such as Spark or similar technologies.  
• Familiarity with conversational and AI-driven frameworks such as LangChain or LangGraph is a plus, or strong willingness to learn.  
• A strong understanding of software development lifecycle, design patterns, and best coding practices. 
• Interest in the analytics domain, with an openness to understanding and contributing to advanced analytics and AI features.  
• Excellent problem-solving skills, a collaborative approach to teamwork, and enthusiasm for experimenting with new tools and technologies.
